Spring is full of little joys, but there's something particularly special about the return of the hummingbirds. As harsh weather makes way for sunshine and milder days, now is the time to welcome these majestic birds back to your garden – and there's one accessory that you might be missing: a hummingbird swing.
Any keen birdwatcher (or wise gardener) will be well-versed in how to attract hummingbirds, from planting native flowers to hanging hummingbird feeders. What you might not have considered, however, is something like Amazon's Winemana hummingbird swing, which you can pick up for less than $10.
This often-overlooked item provides a perch for hummingbirds as they expend energy while feeding. Hovering in mid-air is hard work, and a swing offers a much-needed opportunity for them to rest. (Plus, it makes a rather elegant addition to your garden decor, which is always a bonus.)

You'd be forgiven for thinking that a hummingbird swing sounds like a rather fanciful addition to your garden – and while it will certainly add a romantic touch to your decor, it also serves a crucial function.
Since hummingbirds feed in mid-air, they can quickly start to feel exhausted. After a while, they will begin to search for a place to rest, from narrow tree branches to clotheslines and fences.
By introducing a hummingbird perch to your yard, however, you can ensure that these tenacious birds will have a safe spot to relax and recharge.
Hummingbird swings are usually crafted from metal, with a sturdy hanging hook and a narrow wooden dowel which serves as a perch. While Amazon's Winemana swings have a rather dainty frame, they are coated in waterproof paint to ensure that they're weather-resistant.

The swings also feature a thoughtfully-designed perch. You'll find plenty of hummingbird swings online (I've also got my eye on these elegant perches from Amazon and this copper hummingbird swing from Walmart), but what you'll want to look out for is the size of the base.
Hummingbirds may be powerful, but they aren't large birds, and they'll need a suitably narrow perch if they're tempted to linger in your yard. Too wide, and they'll begin to feel unstable, so a dainty (but durable) swing is best.
Naturally, perches like these aren't the only way to encourage hummingbirds to visit your garden, but they are often overlooked.
Many gardeners will use planting as their primary approach, whether focusing on shrubs that create shelter for hummingbirds or incorporating shade-loving plants that hummingbirds can't resist. Then, of course, there's knowing where to place a hummingbird feeder to provide optimal cover for hummingbirds.
With a swing, however, you can be sure that hummingbirds won't just visit your yard to feed, but also to pause, shelter, and digest their food. Plus, plenty of other birds will follow suit, helping you to create a vibrant wildlife garden in no time.
Why Shoppers Love Amazon's Winemana Hummingbird Swing
This pack of hummingbird swings might be surprisingly affordable, but shoppers say it's sturdy, stylish, and impressively effective.
'These little hummingbird perches are so adorable,' reads one review. 'It's been fun to see how much the hummingbirds love to come and rest on them.'
It's worth noting that hummingbirds might not flock to your yard immediately, but plenty of customers describe just how rewarding these perches can be.
'This is a great little swing,' says one shopper. 'It took the hummingbirds about a month to finally perch on it, now they fight over it!'

These disc-shaped feeders allow birds to rest while feeding. They're leakproof, easy to clean, and they're red – a color that's known to attract hummingbirds.
It's surprisingly easy to make your own hummingbird food, but if you're short on time, you can always fill your feeders with pre-made nectar instead.
This feeder is complete with four feeding ports, a removable bee guard, and a red finish, of course. It's slim but hard-wearing.
Transform your garden with Amazon's cascade hanging bird bath: the solar-powered water pump produces a gentle mist, which hummingbirds love.
If you're after a more striking set of swings, try this bright red pack. They're sure to tempt hummingbirds to your yard.
