How Do Modular Raised Beds Work?
Modular raised beds are perfect for awkward-shaped gardens
Modular raised beds are one of those things you don't realize you need until you find yourself trying make a rigid raised bed fit into an awkward spot.
Whether you have a narrow garden, an L-shaped garden, or an expansive lawn, modular raised beds can help you get the most out of your yard.
They have interchangeable panels – a mix of flat, rounded, and corner pieces – which you can put together however you like.
It means you could create a tiny circular raised bed for an otherwise unusable corner, a large rectangular bed, or a huge U-shaped raised bed (Vego Garden actually have a specific kit for this) to transform an open patch of your yard.

Why Shoppers Love the Vego Garden Beds
Vego Garden also offer a range of add-ons to build upon the raised beds
Reading the reviews of the Vego Garden modular raised beds, it's not hard to see that shoppers are impressed by their quality, flexibility, and value for money – especially considering they're built to last for at least 20 years.
I particularly love the fact the panels are made of recyclable metal, much more durable than wood and harder for slugs and snails to climb, keeping your crops safe.
'What a dandy garden kit. Our old wood-frame not-very-raised beds had gone the distance and it was time for something that would last us the rest of our gardening lives,' one five-star reviewer writes.
Alongside the large modular raised bed being 9-in-1, you can also choose the height of it. Vego Garden describe 17" as the standard height, but they go as short as 11" tall and as tall as 32" tall for zero back bending, so you can customize it to your physical needs, too.
As for actually putting the Vego Garden modular raised beds together, customers have found it easy.
'Very sturdy. Installing instructions good and easy to put together,' one person writes.
'Very easy to assemble. Looks excellent and high quality. I have no doubt this will last as long as advertised,' another shares.
As well as including useful instructions on how to put the beds together, each kit comes with a graph showing the different configurations you can achieve. It makes it easy to personalize the raised bed to your space.
'We customized ours far beyond the recommended configurations and I’m in love with the outcome,' one five-star reviewer shares.
'PERFECT solution for our needs! We started with four beds, and are preparing to order another set,' one shopper writes. 'Assembly was straightforward – no issues. Beds were easy to move into place and look fabulous,' they add.
These modular raised beds do have a very sleek, timeless look. Each kit has multiple colors available, for a wide range of garden schemes. Plus, they have edging and caps that conceal the sharp edges and screws, as well as protecting hands from injury.
Shoppers express just how good of a growing vessel these beds are too, with the reviews flooded in images of productive kitchen gardens, so there's no doubt they provide plenty of drainage and a secure home for crops.
'My neighbors can’t believe how much I grow in these beds!' one person shares.
I also discovered you can purchase several add-ons. This includes a Vego Garden arched trellis, Vego Garden irrigation kit, and Vego Garden frost cover – so it really can be enhanced and turned into a one-of-a-kind raised bed garden.
The only downside I'm finding to the Vego Garden modular raised beds is the price.
The large modular raised bed is just shy of $300 and the smallest one is $229.95. In comparison to galvanized steel raised beds of a similar style (like this large one on Amazon for $149.99), this is quite expensive.
However, there's no doubt you're paying for long-lasting quality and flexibility in the design. Shoppers agree it's worth it:
'The initial investment is higher than using other materials – but – you never have to worry about untreated wood rotting, treated wood leaching chemicals into your soil, hauling heavy concrete blocks etc. And they look great,' one person writes.
So, for me, the investment is worth it to create a truly bespoke, beautiful raised bed garden that suits my needs, fits into my yard perfectly, and will last for decades of gardening.
