I just went into Anthropologie to see the fall collection in store – and unexpectedly it wasn't pumpkins and leaves that caught my eye
As an editor, I thought I had my classic fall favorites picked. Then I saw the candle holders

As soon as I caught wind that Anthropologie’s fall 2025 collection had landed, I left my desk and walked – briskly – to the Rockefeller flagship. If you haven’t been, it’s massive. Formerly a movie theater, now a haven for all things, home, and the occasional boho-adjacent silk slip dress you’ll talk yourself into needing. The marquee still hangs out front like an invitation.
Halfway down the staircase, past a rack of embroidered sundresses that might someday accompany me to Capri, I spotted something glinting from across the floor. Glass. Fruit. Candle holders. No pumpkins, no leaves, no plaid, but dare I say, they're the perfect fall decor ideas if you are after a nod to the season that still feels expensive and chic.
The Harvest Fruit Icon Glass Candle Holders look like props from a high-budget period film – or, something that sits inside the home of a really fabulous collector.
A perfectly executed autumnal ombré candleholder to style a fall mantelpiece.
They’re made from borosilicate glass – so clear that I have no doubt catches every flicker – and come in two versions: one tall, stacked like a produce stand; the other a singular pear.
In person, they're the perfect balance of surreal but not at all kitschy, definitely delicate but didn't seem too precious, either. I’ve held heavier stemware that cost more and did less.
Then I turned to my left and saw the Amber Clear Floral Candle Holders, which reminded me of the Ancient Greek floral filigree that I once studied in school. If the fruit ones are a Nancy Meyers movie, these are Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette.
What works here is that none of these candle holders feel on-the-nose for fall, which as a style editor, is a major pet peeve. They're more of a nod. A whisper. I envision them blurring the edges between seasons, transitioning away from summer's simplicity and into cozier corners.

Few joys are greater than matching your taper candles to your candle holders, and conveniently, I found ones in the exact aged hues I had imagined in wooden boxes, just below.
As is always the case with Anthropologie, I fell in love with more candlesticks than I bargained for, but I had to pick some up to go with my new not-so-fall fall candle holders.
It's not just fall in July at Anthropologie either, its Halloween collection is out too (although it was very subtly sprinkled through the store). For some of the collection, they have called in Oscar-winning costume designer Catherine Martin. Her spooky soirée capsule feels like it could steal some screen time in a Baz Luhrmann movie. These are the pieces I’d buy.
