It’s that time again: the bittersweet slide from summer into fall. Sad, because vacation's over. Happy, because we’re back to coats, cider, and long drives just to admire the leaves. Everyone’s back in town, which means hosting season is officially on – and McGee & Co.’s ongoing Labor Day sale (through September 2nd) arrives with perfect timing.
Headlining the event is the newly launched (and also on sale) Fall 2025 collection, full of the expected crowd-pleasers for elevating your fall decor – sculptural side tables, iron-legged ottomans, and other photogenic furniture. But the real magic is in the details: a lidded glass condiment dish that looks like it’s been passed down, or hotel-grade bed sheets that let you offer a five-star sleep without breaking a sweat.

Below is my edit of everything I have my eye on to get my most-seen spaces ready for the influx of guests that come with this time of year.
Assigned seating makes even the most casual autumnal dinner feel like a special occasion. These auburn marble blocks do the work for you – their rich veining adds instant polish, avoiding awkward seating arrangements with almost no effort.
Placing a couple of bath towels on the bed is one of the most underrated love languages of hosting – don’t make your guests ask! And trust: the only question they’ll have is where you found these cotton waffle-weave ones that remind them of a boutique spa.
A cloche, for condiments? Absolutely. It’s extra, but intentionally so. Use this fall tablescape essential to shield dips, spreads, or the tiniest treats (candied pecans or even a single fall cupcake would be darling).
Sure, you’ve got napkins – but do you have the rings? Twisted, metallic, and jewel-like, they're the final fall decor flourish your plate stack didn’t know it needed.
Throw pillows are posture support disguised as decor. Spice up last year’s by swapping in new covers like the Hester, whose moody, painterly florals make any seat (even makeshift ones) feel like a moment.
You’ll want something to protect the coffee table during hors d’oeuvres. These lace-trimmed, Cottagecore-inspired cocktail accessories do so sweetly – just let the edging peek out beneath your coupes and keep a stack near the bar for easy grabbing.
If the goal is hotel-level sleep, there’s really only one option: percale. It’s the crisp, cool sheet used in the best hotels – a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. White might sound simple, but the barely-there hemstitch peeking from beneath the duvet begs to differ.
You (and your guests) need something to sip from. Might as well make it a coupe – just as sparkly for champagne as it is for a cozy cider, thanks to its lead-free crystal. Leave a few on a nearby shelf for post-dinner eye candy.
The caviar craze may have peaked last year, but the antique-style clamshell servers it revived are still going strong. This one’s nickel – so skip the roe – but it makes an ideal home for something equally precious: say, cinnamon for dusting over pie and whipped cream.
I might be mourning for summer, but the thought of getting my home ready for fall and hosting is helping me let go of the longer, warmer days. The Labor Day sales are some of my favorite to shop for that very reason; they get me excited for the change in season and the change in decor that comes with it.
