I’m Leaning Into This Year’s Biggest Design Trend – and Rowen & Wren’s Nostalgic Christmas Collection Is First on My List
A first look at the new Rowen & Wren Christmas collection, inspired by timeless festive traditions
It may feel like Halloween and Bonfire Night are barely behind us, but Christmas is fast approaching – and before long, it’ll be time to deck the halls and get the mulled wine simmering.
When it comes to Christmas decorating, I’ve always believed it’s best to look back rather than forward. The season isn’t about reinvention – it’s about tradition. It’s about pieces that feel storied, sentimental, and familiar; the ones that remind us of where we’ve been.

Designed to hang from the tree, adorn a mantle, or nestle into festive corners, these dinky decorations seem as though they have been plucked from a storybook.
A beautifully eclectic set of hand-painted baubles, each one with a velvet ribbon. I always find it hard to find baubles that aren't either smothered in glitter or produced en masse, and these are just what I was looking for.
I have added these to my basket, not to adorn my Christmas tree, but to thread through the velvet bows on my Christmas wrapping this year.
As soon as I clapped eyes on these I ordered four to hang from the sash windows in my sitting room through the festive season. They make for the most beautiful gift, too.
These remind me of a Dickensian Christmas, they would look beautiful draped across a mantlepiece or threaded through greenery.
An homage to the traditional folky decorative arts of Scandinavia, I think these decorations are simply magical. Hang them from foliage or add them to gifts, there is something distinctly nostalgic and comforting about them.
