Shea McGee Is Bringing Back Whimsical Coastal Style for 2026 – and Her Spring Target Collection Is the Perfect Place to Shop the Trend
From shell motifs to blue and white palettes, it's a refreshing take on spring style
When I spoke to designers about how they rethink their homes after Christmas, it became clear that there is one thing they all agree on: they start looking forward to spring. So while it may still feel like we are coming out of a post-Christmas fog, the timing really couldn't be better for Shea McGee's new collection at Target.
The new pieces certainly create that fresh spring feeling, leaning decidedly coastal with a touch of whimsy through colorful florals and classic ginghams. Some of the pieces read a little bolder than we are used to from the designer known for warm neutrals, but it's a welcome change for the season ahead.
The spring collection features everything from larger furniture items like the Gingham Skirted Ottoman to smaller decorative pieces in the form of Ruffle Edge Throw Pillows and a charming Shell Table Lamp, just to name a few.
There are still plenty of nods to Shea's classic style, with natural materials and textures introduced through the Woven Scalloped Basket and beautifully designed photo frames, as well as a few wrought iron pieces that add a striking contrast to the softer textures.
It's the perfect collection to transition from the deeper tones and thicker fabrics of winter into the lighter, brighter spirit of spring. Here are a few of our favorite pieces we're adding to cart immediately.
Florals for spring might not be groundbreaking, but why fix what isn't broken? This throw pillow is a fun layering piece for a sofa or armchair, and instantly infuses a room with spring style. It's also available in a deep blue shade if that's more your style.
Every home needs a pretty woven basket, whether it's to store logs for the fire or surplus blankets. This large woven design features a charming scallop edge and two decorative handles. It's also available in a smaller size, so it's perfectly versatile.
This woven throw blanket reimagines a classic floral print – instead of large blooms in bright seasonal hues, it's subdued in color and minimal in print, with flowers and leaves introduced subtly. The cotton-polyester blend is easily machine-washable, too.
Nothing signals a shift towards spring like bountiful florals, and if you like low maintenance, this faux arrangement is the perfect pick. The ceramic vase adds an elegant detail, while the faux flowers add color and interest without the upkeep.
A statement lamp adds so much interest to interiors, and this shell-inspired design is perfect for spring. The ceramic base features a striking wavy texture to emulate a shell, while the white linen cone shade adds a classic edge. It's timeless yet playful.
Metallics feel right at home through every season, and this silver catch-all tray is the perfect piece to add to your collection. The twisted edge adds a unique detail, while the silver finish feels classic and timeless. Perfect for entry consoles or bedside tables.
A coffee table is an investment piece, so it's important to choose something that will stand the test of time, yet still has an air of unique style. This design hits the mark, with a beautiful marble top and metal legs with a curved criss-cross detail at the base.
For something light, bright, and playful, this side table has it all. The hexagonal shape is a welcome change from the usual round designs, and the blue and white pattern adds a charming detail – it's sure to become the talking point of your living room.
In 2026, Shea doesn't want to see the legs of your chairs. Instead, she's hiding them away with a skirted finish, as shown in this oh-so charming chair. There are plenty of fabric options available, but this gingham option is surely a beautiful choice.
The entire collection drops today, so take a look and check out with your favorites – the most coveted pieces always sell out super quick. Plus, these pieces will help to inspire your home's spring colors for the season.
