This Simple Cocktail Hack Makes the Most Professional Looking Christmas Morning Mimosas
Make these elegant flavored ice cubes for your mimosas for a seriously stylish twist on your festive fizz
Party season is in full swing, and nothing will delight guests more than a cocktail to kick things off. When it comes to the best Christmas Day menus, simplicity and speed are key – which is why I'll be counting on the viral mimosa ice cube hack for my Christmas morning drinks this year.
The holidays are all about tradition, and I can't imagine Christmas morning without a mimosa. It's my favorite festive tipple, and perhaps the easiest recipe I can think of – but after years of batch-prepped mimosas served at busy Christmas breakfasts, I've been keen to add a more professional touch to the proceedings.
Enter Instagram's 'mimosa cube' trick, which uses just two ingredients to produce a picture-perfect set of ice cubes ready to be finished off with a (generous) splash of Prosecco. It's the perfect make-ahead recipe for Christmas morning.

Every host is looking for easy wins during the holiday season, and to me, this means show-stopping dishes and drinks that don't require hours of setup (or a crowd of people in the kitchen – check out our ultimate Christmas hosting guide if you want to streamline your festive parties). Mimosas will always be my go-to, but I can't wait to elevate my recipe using the mimosa ice cube hack – and I know my guests will be won over by the rose petal-style detail.
Creating these gorgeous ice cubes is simply a matter of cutting oranges into slices and folding them into large ice cube molds (like this king ice cube tray from Williams Sonoma). Tucking the slices into the molds in a little spiral will create that unique rose petal look, leaving you to top up each mold with water (or OJ) before popping them into the freezer.
With the mimosa ice cubes prepped and frozen in advance, all you need to do come Christmas morning is add the finishing touches to your festive drinks. I might even batch-mix a few sloe gin pomegranate sparklers, too, for another spin on the classic festive cocktail – and I'll be serving everything up in red and gold coupe glasses from CB2. (The most festive piece of tableware in my hosting closet, naturally.)

Traditional mimosas are served in tall glasses (like the Lenox Tuscany champagne flutes from Macy's), but you'll want to show off your mimosa cubes in wide coupe glasses like these. I love the festive hues.
Whether you're making ice cubes or prepping garnishes, a reliable chopping board is the key to perfecting your home bar setup. This one is both durable and stylish.
Jump on the amber glassware trend with this handsome piece of kit – every home bartender needs a measuring jug, but I'd say this one really looks the part.
If statement coupe glasses aren't quite your style, I'd opt for this fluted set instead. They're elegant, understated, and timeless – plus, they're perfect for mimosas.
Constructed from flexible silicone with sturdy lids, these molds will give you cocktail bar-worthy ice cubes without any fuss. You can even stack them up in your freezer.
A champagne stopper is a luxe cocktail essential that's guaranteed to elevate your setup. It's ideal if you're pouring fizz for a crowd – especially during busy holiday celebrations.
