This NY-based interior designer has snapped up the crown

New York-based Interior Designer, Daun Curry, has won the coveted Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year Award 2019 in the 23rd year of the prestigious awards programme.
A design philosophy of innovation and effortless liveability characterises the work of Curry, who specialises in high-end residential, retail and hospitality projects that are personal, practical and beautiful.
Current work includes a waterfront estate in the Hamptons, a major renovation of a Modernist house in Los Angeles and several apartment residences in New York.

Other recent projects also include the New York flagship for luxury jewellery brand, Jemma Wayne, a modern makeover of a sprawling ranch style home in Rye, New York, and a series of penthouse suites at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
The Andrew Martin Interior Designer of the Year Award was the first international design award and is still considered to be the most venerated.
It encompasses designers from every corner of the planet - more than 1000 designers and architects from China alone take part.
Previous winners of the awards are a who's who of the design firmament from Kelly Hoppen (way back in 1996), Axel Vervoordt, Thomas Pheasant and Jamie Drake.

Martin Waller, Founder of Andrew Martin, said of Curry: 'Daun's cool metropolitan interiors are sprinkled with witty and quirky elements that give her work a truly special sheen.
'Daun's journey from her backwoods upbringing in rural Florida without even a TV, to the bright lights of New York and Las Vegas is a timeless tale of talent and endeavour.'
Martin Waller founded Andrew Martin in 1978, pioneering world-class textile and furniture design and went onto launch the Awards programme in 1996 to champion the best interior designers from across the globe.
The Award, now in its 23rd year, has since been coined the 'Oscars of the design world', peaking global interest in the award itself and the accompanying annual Interior Design Review.
The Andrew Martin Interior Design Review (the Bible of Interior Design) showcases the top 100 interior designers of 2019; and is now available to buy at www.andrewmartin.co.uk.
