Arnold Schwarzenegger & Maria Shriver’s former home is currently on the market for $11 million. The SoCal hangout, which is hidden on a country lane just off Sunset Boulevard, was the longtime home of the California Governor and his then-wife, journalist Maria Shriver. The news host is also the daughter of Eunice Kennedy and Sargent Shriver, the sister of President John F. Kennedy.
The home is now listed by its current owners, attorney-and author Maxwell Kennedy, who is the son of Robert and Ethel Kennedy, and his wife, Vicki Strauss Kennedy.
Considering its allure amongst the most powerful families in America and its prestigious Californian postcode, the estate is considered one of the world’s best homes. Here, we take a tour.
The home’s status is showcased upon arrival throughout its grand entryway that, despite its luxury, upholds a traditional American aesthetic. Notable features include a sweeping wooden staircase and a hidden bench that acts as a reading nook – or a place to rest after coming through the front door.
The golden-hued entryway flows into the dining area – a space that fuels our traditional dining room ideas. This area oozes an understated elegance through its neutral palette that combines dark wooden tones with subtle yellow hues. This scheme is further warmed by the SoCal sun that leaks through the patio doors overlooking the garden.
Beyond the dining space, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s home offers a host of living room ideas – combining New England and California-contemporary. The space is similarly illuminated by the natural daylight that flows through the bay windows and softens the blue and yellow color scheme.
An ornate fireplace stands as the room’s focal point and emphasis the air of coziness in the room.

Upstairs, the property has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, alongside a host of extra amenities, including a sauna. These features continue outside, where the exteriors showcase a range of exclusive garden ideas.
Key attractions include the grotto-style pool and a lighted tennis court – both of which are surrounded by ancient oak, sycamore, and eucalyptus trees.
