IKEA has steadily been releasing smart tech for the home that's straightforward and affordable, including smart versions of IKEA's best-selling classics.
The IKEA VARMBLIXT Pendant Lamp is one of their latest releases. Now dimmable and color-changing, this pendant light delivers a striking yet seamless ambiance to the room, without needing to use an expensive smart hub to customize it.
It's a fuss-free addition to your smart home setup that can elevate any space that it's in.
Article continues belowIKEA's homeware has a talent for sitting comfortably between eye-catching and seamless, and the latest VARMBLIXT pendant light is no exception.
Frosted, U-shaped arms and color-changing ambiance bring an element of striking design into a device that can adapt to your evenings. Using the included remote, you can adjust the coloring and watch as it shifts from a bright yellow to a subtle, warm orange.
Unlike many other smart home must-haves, you don't need a smart hub to customize the VARMBLIXT pendant lamp. However, if you do have a hub, you can set the light to align automatically with the brightness levels throughout the day and control multiple lights at once.
The IKEA VARMBLIXT is Matter-compatible, so if you already have an Alexa, Google, or Apple Home device, it will work harmoniously within your setup.

You can also set the light to turn on and off at different times, to make it seem like you're home when you're away, as an expert-recommended home security tip.
The IKEA VARMBLIXT LED Pendant Lamp is available for $159.99.

Installing smart lighting is one of the best ways to reduce friction in your home. It's a small upgrade that might not seem worthy of the investment (it's only replacing a light switch, after all), however, it can make controlling your lighting from anywhere simple, offering safety, peace of mind, and flexibilty.
Here are a few more of IKEA's recently released smart lamps to elevate your space while blending into your environment.

IKEA has also released a smart version of their viral 'donut' lamp, which can fit on a table or be mounted on a wall, with more expansive color-changing options than the pendant light above.
This adhesive and battery-powered ANKARLÄGG emits a warm, soft hue and can be placed in kitchen cabinets, bathrooms, or around the house for gentle visibility without turning on the main light.
This IKEA motion sensor can activate your main lights or any lamps powered by smart bulbs, much like the Philips Hue bulbs below.
With Philips Hue's most affordable smart bulb, you can set daily routines and dim it from an app.
Another of IKEA's smart lamps is also a Bluetooth speaker, emitting a diffused glow while playing your favorite music.
This IKEA speaker-lamp is smaller and in a glossier design that makes it perfect for nightstands, desks, and coffee tables, with a dimmable light.
