Playing with patterns on the walls is a tactic that works wonders to brighten and invigorate any space, whether it's a hallway or a bedroom.

Christina Ricci has shown us her take on patterned wallpaper with an effortlessly chic design choice: stripes. The Yellowjackets star recently shared a clip of her space on her Instagram page, and she revealed that she is a fan of the cult-favorite brand, House of Hackney, in particular, their Artist Stripe wallpaper. After seeing how she decorated with stripes, I never want to see another plain white wall again.

Design experts say that patterned wallpaper, including striped ones, is one of the best inclusions to an otherwise minimalist space, creating a strong foundation of visual intrigue.

'Pairing patterned wallpaper with complementary paints provides an opportunity to inject more personality and character into any space, ensuring it reflects your style,' Chelsea Clark, the head of brand at Henderson Design Group, explains.

'Wallpaper offers both practical and aesthetic benefits to any room, helping to hide or enhance certain features in the space.'

She continues, 'As with choosing color, it’s important to consider the function of the space you’re decorating when selecting the right wallpaper design. For example, floral patterns tend to have a grounding effect, helping bring the soothing effects of nature into the room while evoking feelings of calm. Bold patterns or stripes will add instant drama to high-traffic hallways and provide grandeur to more formal family spaces, such as dining rooms.'

With that in mind, you can keep your affinity for stripes going with this Lulu and Georgia cream-and-mustard striped pillow, or this handsome green-and-white linen tablecloth from McGee & Co. is a fantastic transitional piece for both indoor and outdoor tables (yes, I really am dreaming of springtime already).
