The historic 'Casa Elizabeth,' lovingly nicknamed after the home's former owner, Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor, can now be yours for $4.5 million. This famous home has been featured in magazines, films, television, and books, and hosted celebrities, world leaders, and royalty, and it's on the market. The chic, contemporary, and minimalist design is a treasure trove of home decor ideas.
Elizabeth Taylor became famous for starring in classic films including Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Taming of the Shrew and her whirlwind romance and subsequent marriage to co-star Richard Burton. She is perhaps the person who most epitomizes old Hollywood glamour. However, her former Palm Springs estate is a far cry from images of vintage furniture this classification brings to mind. Instead, the Coachella Valley estate is a masterclass in how to make a home look modern.
The listing is held by Sandra Upchurch of Signature Real Estate Group.

The photos, shared by Robb Report Real Estate, show that the home has a sleek, modern silhouette shaped of matte, white rectangular blocks. A stroll through the open concept gives incredible views of the mountainous surrounding landscape. The home sits on a green, essentially California plot of land (.59 acres to be exact) surrounded by towering palm trees. Elizabeth Taylor's former Palm Springs home has a total of 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms taking up 4,216 square feet of space.
Interior photos show that the home is full of open-concept living spaces. It includes dual luxurious primary suites with a spa-like en-suite bathroom connecting them. The massive, walk-in shower is filled with natural light for a relaxing bathing experience.
The bright white walls, free-flowing shape, and inset lighting give the entire home an incredibly contemporary feel. Large, black-trimmed windows fill the rooms with light and the bright green landscape offers an attractive contrast to the sleek white of the interiors.
Casa Elizabeth is complete with a chic modern kitchen equipped with an extra large kitchen island, gold hardware, and gorgeous gray cabinets. Outside, the contemporary pool is flanked by a chic pool house and an outdoor kitchen for entertaining.
For those without 5 million dollars to spare, we put together a modern collection of items to recreate the quintessential look in your own home. Shop Elizabeth Taylor's contemporary home edit below.
