In 2024, we've seen the retreat of minimalism. However, there's one huge detail from the minimalist canon that doesn't show any signs of fading: the all-white color scheme. Jennifer Lopez's home is proof that this hue is still as chic as ever.

The actress took to Instagram to share her 'Mom's Night Out' routine featuring shots of her bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom. Though there is variation throughout the home, the space is unified by sleek white paint. From the white railing on the stairs to the white curtains and white bathtub, J. Lo's home serves bright and sophisticated energy.

Though the color is a classic, it's also a huge interior design trend. Jennifer Ebert, color expert and digital editor at Homes & Gardens states: 'With the rise of the "quiet luxury" look, white walls are growing ever more popular. The bright, simple shade is the perfect backdrop for more subtly opulent furnishings, making their superior quality materials stand out all the more. It also signals silent sophistication, a hallmark of the popular design trend.'

She continues, 'In J. Lo's space, decorating with white helps to create continuity between rooms. Though each space has its own accessories, the white backdrop builds a cohesive, contemporary design style across the home.'

Furthermore, Lopez's color scheme shows no signs of faltering in popularity. 'White walls are a beautiful, timeless scheme that will never go out of style,' says Carlin van Noppen, principal interior designer and founder of Fig Linens and Home. 'As the years pass, this shade has unwavering appeal.'

'This scheme has largely become so trendy due to its versatility. In J.Lo's space, it makes the perfect backdrop for a large green plant and the print on her wall,' Van Noppen says. 'However, if you were to switch these out for more mid-century modern accents or more contemporary accents, you would have a completely different room without remodeling at all.'

With a few well placed, white decorative accents, any room can have the same grounded, contemporary feel you see in Lopez's living room. A plant adds just the right amount of natural flair.

As trends change, white will never go out of style. Jennifer Lopez's chic, simple scheme proves the rule.
