Kendall Jenner's minimalist nightstand offers a visually calming vignette – doctors say it could be the secret to better sleep
The model's bedroom is the ultimate zen sanctuary – the intentional styling of her nightstand plays an important role in making it feel so relaxing

We all want our bedroom to act as a calming haven at the end of a long day, and when you're a busy, high-profile member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, you take your sleep sanctuary very seriously indeed.
Kendall Jenner's bedroom in her Mulholland Estates home is exactly the peaceful, minimalist space you'd expect, right down to the intentional styling of her nightstand. The curated vignette is visually calming, but besides its aesthetic beauty, sleep experts say it could teach us a vital lesson about the importance of a minimalist, clutter-free nightstand.
If the surface next to your bed is currently host to dirty mugs, paperwork, or empty food or cosmetic packets, take Jenner's bedside table idea as a sign to rethink your tabletop. After all, a tidy space really does equal a tidy mind.

The travertine stone base of this elegant lamp is so grounding in a bedroom, and the tapered linen shade will soften the bulb for the perfect glow.
This simple black nightstand looks chic and understated. Style with a simple vase of flowers and a lamp to imitate Jenner's look, and use the drawers for your less sightly essentials.
Foliage has such a calming effect in the bedroom, but faux is the way to go if you suffer from allergens and want a low-maintenance approach. The earthy color of this maple leaf step is especially fitting for the bedroom.
Jenner is the epitome of the viral 'clean-girl' aesthetic, so it's hardly surprising that her minimalist bedroom is the interior design equivalent. The earthy, tonal space feels so serene with its arched doorway, wooden beams, and sumptuous taupe scheme, all of which offer a delicate contrast to her black nightstand.
For most of us, the bedside table is something of an afterthought, but that's clearly not the case for Jenner. Instead, the dark, elegant piece of furniture acts as a great focal point in her warm-beige bedroom.
'The understated design seamlessly ties in the dark curtain rod and wooden ceiling beams, adding a grounding element to the space,' explains interior designer Elana Mendelson. 'Its rectilinear form contrasts beautifully with the soft, inviting curves of the bed and lounge chair, creating a dynamic interplay of shapes.'
Jenner's eye for styling is evident, too, with the blue table lamp and a small vase of burgundy foliage offering a delicate splash of color in the otherwise neutral room. According to Elana, simple touches like these add character and soften a space. 'The result is a space that feels thoughtfully curated yet effortlessly comfortable,' she says.

But there's more to a minimalist nightstand than aesthetics alone. A visually clean, clutter-free tabletop could actually help us to sleep better – according to science.
'Having a minimalist, clutter-free nightstand can make a surprising difference in how well you relax before bed,' explains Dr. Shelby Harris, Director of Sleep Health at Sleepopolis. 'When your space feels calm and organized, your mind is more likely to follow suit, helping you unwind after a busy day. '
A cluttered nightstand, on the other hand, can trigger anxiety or distractions before sleep. If you lay your eyes on paperwork at night, for example, you're unlikely to relax. 'Stick to just the essentials – like a small lamp, a good book, or maybe a glass of water,' says Dr Harris. 'Keeping things simple creates a sleep-friendly vibe and helps set the tone for a restful night.'
It seems that Jenner's showroom-worthy nightstand is more than just a pretty face. Minimalist nightstand styling is, in fact, the answer to a more serene, sleep-inducing space that results in a better night's rest. If there was ever a reason to give your bedside table a tidy-up, this was it.
