Kylie Jenner's Glam Room Features Iconic Retro Lighting – It's a Masterclass in Adding Whimsy With Small Details
There is nothing like the perfect lighting to make you feel beautiful, and Kylie Jenner's glam room shows exactly how it's done – it embodies curated whimsy
If you've ever wanted to feel like an old Hollywood starlet getting ready for her close-up as you do your makeup, then Kylie Jenner has the perfect design formula for you. The 'Glam Room' in her Hollywood Hills home is utterly perfect.
Kylie worked with Martyn Lawrence Bullard to transform the property into a gorgeous pink getaway, and her makeup room captures the whimsical vibe woven throughout the home. Though the pink leather chairs, shag rug, and pink marble countertops are the most eye-catching elements of the room, we think the lit mirrors are the most striking. They give the room a retro, feminine feel that exudes old Hollywood glamour. It's like a sneak peek into Jayne Mansfield's pink palace. As if this wasn't perfect enough, Kylie adds a pink neon sign to add an extra touch of interest through her lighting.
Luckily for those who love the room, demand for 'weird' decor is only increasing in 2026. Google data shows a 427% increase in searches for 'whimsy decor,' and Kylie Jenner's mirror lighting is the perfect example of how to embrace whimsy in your home. To explore, let's take a peek into her space. We've also curated an edit of products that resemble those in Kylie's room, and interviewed experts on adding whimsy to your home.

Recreate Kylie's Glam Room at Home
Kylie Jenner uses a lit vanity mirror in her glam room for a classic look, and this well-priced version from Wayfair is the perfect place to start. I love the idea of placing it above a bathroom sink or vanity table to make getting dressed easy.
Kylie Jenner uses a neon sign to add a touch of bright light to her wall and so can you. I love this sign that's a fun nod to another of our favorites, Sabrina Carpenter.
Get ready for the day chicly with this stylish and durable leather chair. Accents of red and black help keep it interesting, while pink leather imitates the look of Kylie's space.
This rectangular pink-colored shag rug has a soft texture for ultimate comfort. It looks just as good as it feels underfoot.
A bright pop art print brings a sense of whimsy to any room. If you want to capture the timeless glamour of Kylie's space, it's the perfect option.
Store your makeup brushes in style with this large marble vessel. It's perfect for use on a long white vanity table like Kylie's.
Michael Rolland, Design Expert at The Paint Shed, explains: 'Whimsy is about silliness, joy, and making something innocuous into a charming detail. A simple way to do this in a home is to add joyful colour and, more importantly, a personal touch.'
As Kylie Jenner's dressing room shows, the real magic of a home comes through when you throw convention to the wind. One way to do this, advises Michael, is through the unexpected use of color. He recommends: 'Painting different surfaces in unusual colours can definitely bring some light-heartedness into a space and “whimsy up the room." Another trick can be to choose an unconventional, unique wallpaper pattern and apply it to one or two walls in a room, rather than all four. This half-patterned, half-unified decor scheme creates a slightly unconventional and charming style.'
Integrating vintage pieces, as Kylie has done with her Barbie prints, is another great option for livening up a space with whimsy. You can always redesign these pieces to make them even more fun. Michael suggests: 'Reworking old wooden furniture is ideal for embracing the creativity of whimsy. Incorporating a range of different colors on the different shelves of a bookshelf, for example, is a creative way to transform interiors. Try painting a furniture item that's not usually bright and colourful - like a dining table. For those not sure how to approach this, a moodboard of inspiring patterns and colour combinations can be a good start.'
