Dare we say, we've made it through the worst of winter? It would appear Martha Stewart thinks so. The lifestyle mogul recently sat down to share her tips for a thriving garden, and they've kick-started fantasies of flower-filled yards and long al-fresco evenings ahead.
Martha has some of the most beautiful gardens in the country tied to her good name – comprising her beautiful Bedford retreat to her coastal home in Skylands, Maine. However, you don't need an estate as lavish as hers to create a stunning spring garden. What you do need, though, is her advice and the right tools for the job – both of which come courtesy of QVC.
'The secret to a thriving garden is a combination of beautiful plants, a well, a laid-out plan, and some wonderful color,' Martha says. She adds that the biggest mistake people make in the garden is not planning in advance, and that the secret to sucsess is with good soil (she's known to be a fan of Miracle-Gro's Organic Raised Bed and Garden Soil, available at Amazon).
Alongside sharing tips with QVC, Martha designed a range of essential tools to make the process even simpler. Now, at the turn of the season, is the right time for that garden bag refresh. I've listed some must-haves below.
