Sarah Jessica Parker’s IKEA lamp is the chic Scandinavian find your living room has been missing – it's almost too ornamental to be $15
Your living room’s next conversation starter for under $15: SJP's latest purchase is proof that big style can come in a tiny package

And just like that... Sarah Jessica Parker upgraded our living room shelf with an IKEA staple that costs as little as a movie ticket. The actress took to Instagram to show off her KUDDLAVA – the iconic pleated table lamp designed with Scandinavian influences in mind. It's stylish, radiates a soft light, and is selling for under $15.
After initially sharing a glimpse of her struggling with the flatpack construction process (accompanied by Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’), Sarah returned to Instagram to share her completed KUDDLAVA standing on her shelf.
The lamp stands at 11 inches tall and has an opaque body and shade that creates a subtle, diffused light, perfect for any Scandinavian living room, whatever the size.
The KUDDLAVA is constructed almost entirely of white polypropylene plastic, with at least half of the material coming from recycled means, meaning it's as sustainable as it is stylish. However, the endorsement from Sarah just made this lamp even better.

Introducing a sculptural lamp, such as this, is the fastest way to upgrade any living room shelf, mantelpiece, or coffee table. However, its soft glow makes it the perfect bedroom lighting idea, as it's not too intrusive and overpowering, making it easier to switch off, after you switch off.
Wherever you style the KUDDLAVA, however, you can rest easy knowing that its pleated silhouette will look subtly beautiful – something that's a requirement for design experts when they shop for new lights.
'Lighting should always look as good on as it does off; lighting designs with beautiful silhouettes can never be overlooked; sculptural table lamps make beautiful ornaments within a room, offering both a practical and an aesthetically pleasing purpose,' comments Georgia Metcalfe, the founder and designer at French Bedroom.

It's hard to believe the KUDDLAVA sells for less than $15. It's almost too chic to hold such a low price tag. However, it's not the only pleated piece on our wish-list. I've collected some more of my current favorites to bring some pleated charm to any room of your home.
I'm looking for charming and petite lamps for my nightstands, and I was totally sold on the vintage-style pleated shade of this ceramic lamp. With its base standing at just about 4 inches, this small lamp takes up very little surface space while still adding style.
This portable lamp, which comes in a set of two, features a charming pleated shade that tastefully complements its black base. Its light output is easily adjustable with touch buttons, and it can be used for up to 24 hours after full charge. It's just like a classic pleated lamp, only portable!
Art Deco lighting is a classic way to incorporate history into a more modern scheme. This pewter table lamp feels historic yet contemporary, a happy medium between new and old.
