In just a few short years, a century of ‘that looks like your grandmother’s’ has gone from searing, red-cheek-inducing diss to badge of honor across fashion and home. Vintage bedding has never been cooler and, thanks to Anthropologie’s fall 2026 collection, it’s never been cozier, either.
It helps that the bedding trend naturally lends itself to layers. Stark white sateen sheets? How abrasive, how boring. Age them down to ivory instead, add a border of ruffles to boot, and let them romanticize their way out from underneath your duvet just so. Besides, what could be more grandmotherly than embroidery? It might taken Grannie years of frustrating finger pokes to master, but Anthropologie sacrified the blood, sweat, and tears for us, whimsifying empty corners with flourishes of vines and florals.
Of course, the flowers don’t stop there. No grandmother’s linen closet is complete without many, many of them, and these botanicals take on the look of old studies, musing the sciency illustrations that probably dotted her bedroom walls. Tapestries (having a moment in their own right) follow suit. Not even the buzzy new Barbour collaboration escapes the grandmother test: its timeless tartan throw pillows and blankets feel like something she’d have bought back in the day, had she been given the chance.
The newest thing in bedding might look like an old one. Mostly true, save for whispery moss greens and faded plums that pull Anthropologie's 'grandma’ layers somewhere less expected.

Also trending between the sheets? Ice blue, the bedding color trend plucked straight from the S/S 2026 runways and, judging by a recent parade of percale, cooling things down for fall, too.
