Parachute for $12? The Luxury LA Bedding Brand’s Sold-Out Target Collection Is Back – and I Don’t Expect It to Stay in Stock for Long
The laid-back California collection is perfect for anyone fed up with fussy bedding – or paying hundreds for luxury sheets
I first fell in love with Parachute during a stay at one of my favorite design hotels: the Santa Monica Proper, designed by none other than Kelly Wearstler. The bathrobe I swaddled myself in proved to be the gateway into what would become a dangerous – and very expensive – obsession with the Los Angeles-based bedding brand.
Now, my bank account, too, is enjoying a bit of a vacation. Parachute has just brought back its sold-out collaboration with Target, spanning cotton sheet sets, duvet covers, gauzy bed blankets (a house signature), quick-drying towels, and, of note, a hotel-worthy lineup of robes. Expect organic textures, yacht stripes, and California cool expressed through sun-washed palettes and an easy, lived-in sensibility.
The collection ranges from just $12 to $169 – a far cry from Parachute’s usual luxury pricing, where bed sheet sets can top $400 and quilts upwards of $500.
Finally, an excuse to do less this summer: lightly rumpled bed sheets is actually the look.
Dreamed up in a city where the sun always shines, Parachute's beachy brand of luxury looks better the less you fuss with it. A personal mix of, say, Cove Casual Organic Sheets, Pecan & Parchment Linen Pillowcases, and the Palm Jacquard Bed Blanket manages to wake up looking more editorial than messy – which, frankly, is exactly my energy this time of year.
Elsewhere, you can also snap up the lesser-seen bedding essentials where tremendous quality matters most: mattress toppers, comforters, and pillow inserts, while the details that tend to get the most airtime – such as decorative pillows – abound.
Sweltering in the New York shoebox apartment where I currently write, I’ll gladly borrow a little California cool to survive another East Coast summer. These are the eight pieces I'm eyeing before Parachute for Target sells out again.
I, for one, intend to mix Parachute for Target's highly anticipated return into my own summer bedding rotation, but if you’re casting a wider net, these are the cooling bed sheets I’d be looking at, too.
