I Spent the Night at Brooklinen’s Swanky Holiday Sleepover – But Its New First Ever Christmas Bedding Was the Unexpected Luxury

It takes a lot to distract me from a penthouse. These pre-washed sheets are so soft, you can spare holiday guests the break-in period

If you spotted a few dozen full-grown adults embroidering pillowcases in coordinating Super-Plush striped robes and PJs in a Brooklyn penthouse last Thursday night, you’ll be delighted to hear it wasn’t another shi-shi new members’ club. It was Brooklinen’s holiday sleepover, held on the 20th floor of the William Vale. But even with a 1,632-square-foot private outdoor terrace (a pipe dream in NYC) and a swanky, two-story duplex to explore, there was one Christmas bed sheet print that caught my eye.

Brooklinen’s Washed Classic Percale Core Sheet Set just dropped in a new Snow Day toile, part of its first-ever holiday capsule and a distinctly New York take on Christmas. Apropos of the Brooklyn-based brand, the 'Tree Top' green print romanticizes the city’s most iconic winter scenes, from the Empire State Building-dotted skyline to the gargantuan Norway spruce at Rockefeller Center. Unlike the Classic Percale you probably already own, this set has a softer, lived-in feel straight out of the package. (As a frequent guest myself, I can attest that few things are worse than stiff sheets. This makes it easy to give guests the broken-in bedding you’d want to sleep in yourself.)

Paired with the just-dropped Dreamweave Waffle Bed Blanket in Spice, a rich holiday red, and an unexpectedly fresh moss-green lumbar pillow, this traditional French toile reads surprisingly fresh for a print that’s been around for centuries. Still timeless. But very Brooklyn, and exactly the sort of holiday I had in mind.

It’s the perfect print for a Christmas bedroom. Brooklinen’s (always prescient) stylists layered on a few other festive accents, including a fluffy throw and moss-green pillowcases, but really, a glimpse of these sheets peeking out beneath a plain white duvet is all the festivity one could need.

…Or so I thought. When I retreated to my own hotel room for the evening (spoiled, I know), a second Christmas bedding option caught my eye. Sprawled across the mattress was a Classic Percale Hardcore Sheet Set in Tree Top Tandem Stripe, a solid, more tailored take on the festive palette I’d admired upstairs. I asked around, and it comes in 'Spice' red, too.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it wasn’t just the penthouse. Brooklinen’s bedding got really classy this Christmas. Ahead, the pieces I spotted (and slept in) from the brand’s debut holiday capsule, bringing a little New York Christmas to your bedroom.
