This October, Decorex returns to Olympia, London, for its annual four-day exhibition, which brings together top interior designers, architects, brands, and craftspeople to showcase the latest in luxury furniture, lighting, fabrics, and bespoke design. For design enthusiasts, there are insights to be gleaned from these designs, and beauty and artistry at every turn.

Our antennae went to high alert when we heard that Adẹ̀kọ́ & Co. will unveil the VIP Lounge this year, called 'Palomino', drawing on the glamour of the Paris Olympia Hippodrome - a dramatic arena of equestrian shows, acrobats, and high-wire acts.

The concept centers around a luxurious private members' club. The style is hard to define: post-modern, transitional, fusion-maximalism. It's set to be quite the magisterial entrance, far from cut-and-paste interior design; every minute detail has been carefully deliberated and artfully curated.

The lounge is split into five rooms, each with its own distinctive story. A huge amount of space to rationalise.

To bring the spaces to life, Adẹ̀kọ́ & Co. is working in conjunction with a raft of celebrated makers such as Porta Romana, Vaughan, Arteriors, Ambientec, Source Furniture, J. Adams & Co., A Shade Above, Orac Decor, and Arte, all of whom embody excellence in design and craft.

You can experience the sumptuous fabrics from luxurious fabric houses Lelièvre, Misia, Casamance, Nobilis, New York-based fabric specialists Samuel & Sons, as well as acclaimed brands such as Dedar and Qubo Contract in Italy. Furniture from Parisian Philippe Hurel, artwork by the almighty talents at verre églomisé specialists, Ulgador and L’atelier Blundell & Therrien, and rope marquetry, which is an art form that really takes root in the imagination, by Véronique De Soultrait.

The roster of prestigious makers and artists involved in this project is a long one, and all brought together and orchestrated as one by the professorial voice of Nigerian-born Tolu Adẹ̀kọ́, who has carefully stewarded all of these elements into one whole.

There will be bespoke furniture from Tom Faulkner, handcrafted lighting by Martin Huxford Studio, the refined craftsmanship of Cox London, Suffolk-based Selfish Customs, Larkbury, 1718 Furniture Ltd., and a mural painted by renowned and exceptionally talented fine and decorative artist Timna Woollard of Timna Woollard Studios.
