Joanna Gaines just solved my biggest fall lighting dilemma – and now I can finally relax with the most realistic LED candles I have ever seen
These ribbed taper candles from Joanna Gaines' new Target collection look better than the real thing, and I never have to worry about not blowing them out before bed again

‘Did I bring my wallet?’ ‘Did I lock the door?’ ‘Are the candles out?’ These are just a few of the spirals that soundtrack my descent down three flights of stairs in a pre-war New York City walk-up. I like to think this specific brand of Type A anxiety is a kind of superpower (nothing escapes me!), but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t crave a little more peace of mind.
Joanna Gaines, per usual, read my overactive mind, because her latest fall 2025 collection drop at Target feels suspiciously well-timed, debuting a set of ribbed flameless taper candles that manage to be chic, convincing, and, best of all, unburnable.
The solution to my seasonal fall decor spiral. These LED candles may be faux, but they pass for the real thing, at a fraction of the price. At ten inches tall, they’re surprisingly substantial and look especially convincing once styled in your favorite holders.
The candles come in a set of six and three fall-forward shades (a burgundy-leaning orange, deep olive green, and an aged ivory, technically labeled ‘honey’) and glow via remote-controlled LED lights. But more importantly, they don’t look like fake candles. They’re made of real paraffin wax with a fluted texture that gives them the kind of detail-oriented finish you’d normally find in a quaint little chandlery – definitely not something you’d immediately clock as ‘faux.'
A few AAA batteries (add these Target ones to your basket when you check out) and a single press of a button later, these tapers give off a warm, flickering glow with a built-in five-hour timer – perfect for lining a fall table, bathroom ledge, windowsill, or any other surface where open flame is usually a no-go (especially if plants or dinner party guests are involved).
And when it’s time to call it a night, another quick click and every last candle dims in sync – no matter where you scattered them. No cross-apartment extinguishing routine. No leaving the couch. No lingering doubt halfway through dinner that you’ve accidentally set your apartment ablaze.
They arrive just in time, too. This is peak taper season for me – the moment when every flat surface becomes fair game and my candle-related worries are at an all-time high. These ones let me lean into the mood without losing my mind.
A few of my favorite accessories to style them with, below.

You could divide and conquer – or keep your tapers together as a six-candle family in this genius adjustable candelabra. The brass finish feels warm and ready for the season, while the sculptural shape adds a high-design quality to mantles, dining tables, or entryway consoles alike.
This sweet little cup-like holder feels all the more thoughtful in a glossy ceramic glaze. The rim echoes that of the candlesticks above, making them a quietly considered duo – especially perfect with the honey colorway, in my humble opinion.
Rustic but playful, these spindle-shaped holders bring a curated coziness to any corner. At thirteen and nine inches tall, respectively, they pair perfectly with the ten-inch tapers for a more dramatic towering accent – ideal for catching attention from across a large room.
Joanna’s not stopping at tapers. Her full fall 2025 Magnolia drop includes marble-and-brass bookends, cedar-scented velvet quilts, and even some iron candle holders to keep your new glow in good company. If your new flameless finds need a few friends, you know where to look.
