I’m a Style-Conscious Dog Owner Who’s FINALLY Found a Pet Bed That Withstands All the Mess and Looks Chic While Doing So
And there's currently 20% off the whole range in Ruggable's Black Friday Sale
My dog's bed takes up as much room as some of my furniture. It's as dominant in my living room as the rug, the coffee table, or my ottoman. So it needs to look chic and work with my decor, but it also, of course, needs to be practical since it is first and foremost a home for my messy, muddy animal, and we all know the right dog bed can be key to keeping your home cleaner when you have a pet.
I've gone too far both ways over the years, buying beds that are indestructible but look hideous, and ones that look more expensive than my sofa, but don't see past the first winter walk. However, I now do believe I have found the perfect balance, a dog bed that looks beautiful but can also withstand the demands of being a dog bed.
Ruggable, yes, the brand known for its chic washable rugs, makes dog beds. And it makes sense that they would make dog beds that work much like their rugs, wipeable, washable, and wonderfully stylish. And right now, all Ruggable pet beds are 20% off in their Black Friday sale, so the perfect time to gift yourself and your pet a sleep space that's both pretty and practical.
Jonathan Adler's collection is made up of four fun prints, seen here in the Inkdrop Ivory design
They first came to my attention when designer Jonathan Adler created a range that matched his playful rug collaboration. But beyond his creations, Ruggable has 13 different colorways and patterns to choose from, all available in three different sizes.
Not only do they look lovely, and the outer layer is entirely removable so you can throw it in the washing machine, but they are also designed for comfort too. A memory foam topper sits on top of a supportive base, just as it would on your own mattress. The bolstered edges allow for a cozy feel if your dog likes to curl up, but they aren't so high that they can't stretch out and loll over the edge, as my dog often likes to do.
There are plenty of happy pet owners and happy pets reviewing the beds too (head to the reviews sections to see some adorable pups enjoying their chic beds). 'Beautiful dog bed with removable cover. It not only looks great in the space, but my dog really likes hanging out on his bed,' reads one review. 'Both pups love them and stay in them all night long, getting up only to switch places. The only other bed they like better is mine,' reads another. I am sold.

The most simple of the Jonathan Adler designs, this subtle stripe would work with any design scheme. It's available in a dark charcoal too.
I think this personalized dog bed would make for the perfect gift for the animal lover in your life. You could pick up The Bistro Tile Stoneware Mug from Anthropologie for them to (almost) match.
I have learned my lesson (many times) that a good dog bed needs to put practicality first. Pick up any design from the Ruggable range, and you know it's going to withstand the everyday wear and tear our pets' beds face – and look stylish while doing so.
