When you think about Gwyneth Paltrow, what comes to you mind? Is it her Oscar-winning turn in Shakespeare in Love, or her Goop! beauty empire? Or maybe it's that candle? Whatever your associations with the star are, they probably don't involve a super-traditional New York city townhouse.
And yet, that's exactly the sort of home Gwyneth grew up in: it has wood-panelled rooms and fancy draperies, it's very grand, and it's on sale for $15.5 million.

Gwyneth's parents, movie producer Bruce Paltrow and Emmy-award-winning actress Blythe Danner, owned the Upper East Side townhouse between 1984 and 1992, when Gwyneth was a teenager attending the nearby private Spence School.
The 7,205 square feet, five-storey house is decorated in a traditional style, with plenty of antique furniture pieces and textiles. There are six fireplaces, with the upper storeys dedicated to living and dining spaces.
The back garden is small but perfectly shaped – a quintessentially NYC courtyard nestling among mature trees, including a large orange tree. One of the bedrooms features a terrace that overlooks the garden.
The upper floors contain the bedrooms – seven in total. The master bedroom shares the third floor with the library, while the fourth and fifth floors feature the guest bedrooms. Every bedroom comes with a bath (how we wish every home could provide a private bathroom for each occupant!)

Gwyneth herself, of course, hasn't lived in the house since the early 1990s, which is when she left for California, first as a university student and then as an actor.
She now lives in LA full-time, in a house she now finally shares with her husband Brad Falchuk. The couple previously lived in separate properties in LA.
The New York house is listed fo sale at $15.5 million by Brown Harris Stevens.
Where does Gwyneth Paltrow live?
Gwyneth Paltrow lives with husband Brad Falchuk in her Los Angeles mansion, along with their blended family – Gwyneth's daughter Apple and son Moses by Chris Martin, and Brad's two children Isabella and Brody.
The mansion is in Brentwood, a neighborhood that's home to many celebrities. Gwyneth Paltrow has lived there for some years, Brad moved in during the summer of 2019.
Gwyneth also owns a home in The Hamptons.
