Shakira's former Miami mansion is a minimalist masterpiece – take the tour
The property spans 20,726 square feet along the waterfront
Shakira, the Colombia-born singer has sold her six-bedroom, modern Miami home on a star-studded street for $11.648 million.
The home is situated on a 0.5-acre estate, which features a dock – with 100 feet of access to Miami Beach’s Biscayne Bay – as well as a cabana and large pool. The property has been extensively renovated since it was constructed in 1951.

Just like the interiors, the gardens of Shakira's house in Miami are highly manicured. Below, the beautiful swimming pool has views of the bay – but clever screening for privacy.

Shakira played a huge part in the renovation project, as she has done so across all her other property ventures, including the one she shares with her husband, Gerard Piqué, in Barcelona, Spain.
Symmetry plays an important role in the interior design of Shakira's house, as does the running theme of cool, neutral interiors. The overall effect is both space-enhancing and relaxed, yet timelessly elegant.
The living space that looks over the swimming pool has a more relaxed appeal, with touches of blue to connect to the outside.

The majority of the decor is modern and minimalist – a favorite of the singer. She collaborated with architects Ben Lopez & Associates (who are based in Coral Gables) and interior decorator Renata Lessa Bastos (who owns Trace Design Studio in Miami).
Shakira’s Middle Eastern and South American heritage has been beautifully infused throughout the home’s interiors – bone-inlaid pieces, decorative mirrors, a relaxed hookah lounge area, Venetian plastered walls and silver finishes – it is reported that she doesn't like gold.
The kitchen has been designed for some serious cooking and entertaining – with its banks of double ovens, huge wine fridge and expansive seating areas. Again, the decor is streamlined and contemporary for an elegant, modern finish.
Other celebrities who have also inhabited this street, North Bay Road Drive, have included: Michael Bay, Matt Damon, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, and Alex Rodriguez.
The music sensation's own brother, Douglas Elliman's Antonio Mebarak handled the property along with listing agents Ana Lourdes Martinez.
The bedrooms are open and expansive – but have a greater proportion of color in the schemes compared to the living areas.
The property was sold via Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Miami Beach.
