As a stylist and Deputy Editor of Homes & Gardens, I spend a lot of time looking for the latest, most beautiful decorative homewares from the hottest designers and at the latest trends that might give those timeless schemes we all love an intriguing, contemporary twist.
I have a thing for quality and for snagging gorgeous buys at great prices, so I love a sale. And one of my favorites is Net-A-Porter's, which is on right now. But who has time to trawl 15,000 items for the very best buys? Well, me. I'm literally paid to do it.

What to buy in the Net-A-Porter sale

Have you seen French-Algerian designer Anissa Kermiche’s bottom before? No, you didn’t read that wrong. Her big-bottom vases became somewhat of a cult hit a few years ago. This striped earthenware piece is one of her newer designs, perfect if you don’t want to make such a bold statement.

On first impression this vase looks like ceramic but it is in fact made from leather. A joyful surprise nonetheless. The motif, which was created by the American artist Joe Brainard, has been made using the age-old technique of marquetry – a real collector's item.

Tom Dixon will always be one of those designers that is worth the investment. The Swirl Ball candle is the gift that keeps giving because once you’ve finished burning it, you will be left with an artful piece for your living room shelves or a small vase for your dining table. Winning.

Exclusive to Net-A-Porter, these embroidered napkins give a gentle nod to the folk look without feeling too fussy. These are only sold in pairs which gives you the opportunity to mix and match with other designs and colors.

From looking at the price tag you will notice that this is a true investment piece. I’ve had my eye on designs from The Elder Statesman for a while as they’re great at producing simple, yet statement pieces in thoughtful colorways that can hold their own or work with your existing pieces.

When fashion meets interiors. This cheerful cushion design by haute couture fashion designer, Loretta Caponi, feels fresh and of-the-moment. Not only that, the charming ruffled edges display the attention to detail that we’d expect from a fashion designer.

Started by London-based designer Olivia Thorpe, Vanderohe Curio now offers an exclusive range of glassware to Net-A-Porter. I first featured Vanderohe Curio in Homes & Gardens during lockdown and they’ve since branched out into other areas, such as these lovely highball glasses.

I’ve not long come back from a trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy where I spotted hundreds of handcrafted ceramics spilling out of shops onto the winding roads. These dessert plates, which have been turned by hand, take me right back. A joyful and seasonal backdrop for your tablescaping needs.

It was the name of this product that caught my attention but the design, which has taken its inspiration from the stripes of a big-top, is a true work of art. If in doubt, stripes are my go-to as they often work as a plain against other, stronger patterns.
