I Don’t Have AC, But These Clever ‘Instant-Chill’ Sheets Kept Me Cool All Night During a Heatwave
Made of a patented BlendTex material, they're game-changing during humid summer nights
As temperatures continue to climb across the US, getting a good night's sleep is becoming more difficult.
Recently, though, I've been testing the Breescape Cooling Sheets, available at Amazon, and have found myself drifting off and staying cool and comfortable all night long, which is a feat, considering that my home doesn't have AC.
Made of Breescape's patented BlendTex fabric, nylon, polyester, and spandex work in tandem to wick away moisture and release body heat. Now, they're my tried-and-true essential for keeping my bed cool in summer.

If you've perused our guide to the best Amazon cooling sheets, you may already be familiar with the Breescape Cooling Sheets, available at Amazon. Silky soft, cool to the touch, and more absorbent than cotton, our expert tester Devin Toolen said they made her 'realize how much of a difference cooling sheets can actually make,' and I completely agree.
Testing them for myself, I was initially impressed by how immediate the cooling effect of these sheets is. As soon as I climbed into bed, they felt instantly refreshing, and, unlike many other cooling sheets I've tested, those effects lasted all night long.
Admittedly, I'm not generally a hot sleeper, but, like everyone else, I certainly struggle in warm weather, when cooling a bedroom down fast becomes nearly impossible in homes without AC.
Design expertise in your inbox – from inspiring decorating ideas and beautiful celebrity homes to practical gardening advice and shopping round-ups.
These sheets, though, kept me comfortable while I slept, even when sharing a bed with my partner, and I didn't wake up overheating or suffering from night sweats once.
The best part is the sheet set also includes a fitted sheet (along with the flat sheet) and two pillowcases to match, which work to keep your entire body cool, from your neck to your toes.
And, if you prioritize shopping for the best organic bedding, they're also tested and approved to the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, which means they've been rigorously vetted for over 1,000 harmful substances and are certified free of any.

If you've got a bit more of a budget, I can't recommend this Piglet in Bed duvet set enough. As it's a blend of cotton and linen, it's lightweight and breathable, yet softer and less textured than typical linen bedding. It's also available in a whole host of gorgeous colors and patterns.
These sheets fit mattresses up to 16 inches thick and are made from 100% rayon derived from bamboo, for a cool, silky-soft feel. The 360° elastic band ensures a secure fit, while the envelope-closure pillowcases protect pillows from slipping and sliding throughout the night.
Add some color and personality to your bedroom space with this colorful duvet cover set, which is made of slub cotton with uneven fibers woven into the fabric to add texture and create a relaxed, casual feel that's perfect for summer. Decorative, fabric-covered, hidden buttons work to keep the duvet in place.
This narrow tower fan is perfect for small bedroom spaces, with broad room coverage and 90° oscillation to ensure it cools the whole room down effectively. As it operates at just 20 decibels in Sleep mode, it's quiet enough to sleep with it running, and it features eight different speed settings.
If you're a hot sleeper, but prefer a little weight on you when you sleep even in warm weather, this breathable comforter is moisture-wicking and extra-large for an oversized fit. Fiber gaps work to increase and enhance airflow, which makes it suitable for keeping you warm in winter, too.
These budget-friendly cooling sheets are made from smooth, double-brushed 100% polyester microfiber for a super soft, breathable, and luxurious feel. They also feature antimicrobial properties, as the copper-infused fabric works to inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria and reduce allergens and dust.
If you're wondering whether cooling bedsheets really work, the answer, unequivocally, is yes, they do.
