This Anne Hathaway-approved sofa is now the talking point of Jenna Lyons' apartment
Two forces united to dress our favorite apartment in SoHo and, unsurprisingly, experts say the look is right on trend

It's no secret we can't stop looking at Jenna Lyon's apartment. The uber-fashionable loft is among the most noteworthy in Manhattan – defined by an eclectic combination of quietly luxurious neutrals and quirky designer furniture. Until now, her pink sofa has recurringly caught our attention as the ultimate it-girl piece, but now, its crown is under threat – and it's all because of Anne Hathaway.
The cross-over we never knew we needed occurred this week when Lyons shared a snap of her new sofa, designed by Sarah Ellison and modeled by The Idea of You actress. 'Isn’t she pretty?' Lyons asks, and we're included to agree. 'And Anne Hathaway, you’re cute too.' Hathaway is pictured on the third slide of the photo carousel, looking as content as we would with the opportunity to rest on our new favorite statement furnishing.
The living room sofa, named FLOAT, is perhaps the only piece worthy enough to replace Lyons' iconic pink piece. 'With a generously deep seat and horizontal puffy channeling, FLOAT is confident and striking in either sofa or modular configurations,' the description reads. It's a 'conversation piece for every home,' but of course, Lyons's is the natural starting point.

Of course, Hathaway's endorsement makes Lyon's new sofa all the more enviable – but this specific piece taps into a wider design trend that's shaping how we furnish our homes this 2024. The trend in question? Brown – the hue that's emerging as the year's most versatile neutral.
‘Dark colors are a rising trend in interior design. Dark colors are bold and dramatic. They can have within them so many different nuances, tones, and tactilities that give them different characters. They can be basic or sophisticated, daring or elegant, industrial or classic, traditional or modern,' comments Mor Krisher, Head of Design at Caesarstone.

Opting for a subtle brown sofa (whether it's shaped like FLOAT or offers a more traditional aesthetic) is a failsafe way to flirt with the trend without over-committing to the color scheme. We love the look of brown paint, especially in a large living room like Lyons', but this soft piece is an accessible way to incorporate the look without feeling too daring.
‘There is a warm intimacy that comes with the dark; a sense of quiet and calm that cossets and cocoons,' Krisher adds. 'A different mood descends. Taste, touch, scent, and sound, all elevated.'

Of course, we want FLOAT. However, we found some alternatives that will elevate living rooms of all sizes. Here are our favorites.
