Christian McCaffrey's home is a modern celebration of the French countryside – hidden in North Carolina
European style meets Southern charm in this lakeside property, on the market for $12.5 million
Tucked away in the quaint suburbs of Charlotte, North Carolina, sits the highest-selling property in the metro area. The pristine abode belongs to none other than San Francisco 49'ers star running back Christian McCaffrey, and he's just listed it for a whopping $12.5 million (he bought it for $7.5 million in 2020).
Spanning eight acres and 500 feet of lakefrontage, the home's spectacular views are only countered by its magnificent, modern interior, featuring six bedrooms, a stone wine cellar, a home theater, and a guesthouse. Did we mention the home comes with CMC's boat (named after his fiancee Olivia Culpo, naturally), ATV, jet ski, and golf cart?
Take a closer look at the Grand Lac Chateau below.
The property was helmed by architect JJ Barja of Elite Design Group, who designed the French country-inspired home in 2015. Privacy and tranquillity are just a couple of the Mooresville properties' highlights; the trees surrounding the home, along with its proximity to Lake Norman, make the home ideal for those looking for peace and quiet amidst luxury.
With soaring ceilings and light-filled windows, the living room is a bright, airy space fit for lounging. The listing image shows a mostly neutral palette punctuated by a textured rug and pops of navy blue in the seating and pillows.
A touch of gray finds its way into the kitchen, coloring the cabinets and blending in with the bluish breakfast counter and stools. Wood accents and elaborate lighting make the space feel elegant and refined.
Similar to the living area and kitchen, the primary bedroom merges warm neutrals with gray painted walls and metallic details.

Built for grand entrances, this spiral staircase features intricate black railings to match the Victorian light fixtures.
At the bottom of the stairs, find a TV lounge that blends rustic, exposed brick walls with modern, tan leather seats.
