I admit, I never understood the hype around burnt orange, then Drew Barrymore designed a $25 accent pillow that made it all make sense

I'll be honest: I have been unsure about orange interiors up until very recently. Perhaps you have noticed that burnt orange in particular seems to be everywhere lately, from terracotta accent pieces to '70s-inspired furniture. Now, I'm hooked, and have been on the hunt for some orange accessories to spruce up my space.

Enter a decorative pillow from Beautiful by Drew's latest drop: a striped, velvet accent piece that I'm certain will become a staple item on my sofa. The best part? It's under $25.

The light pink stripes make it super versatile, perfect for pairing with any neutral sofa – or a burnt orange one, for that matter. Regardless, it's changing the way I'm thinking about decorating with orange.

The velvet material is a major selling point, evoking the spirit of the '70s and its rich textured materials. I think it would look fantastic in a living room, bedroom, or study. Additionally, the colors that go with orange are wide-ranging. There's the pink combination, which, as we can see with Drew's pillow, works wonders, though earth-tones are also a go-to, according to experts.

'Pair burnt oranges with neutrals like creams and taupes or earthy mustards, browns and olive greens for added depth and character,' suggests Michael Rolland, managing director at The Paint Shed.

If you're looking to decorate with orange, investing in an accent piece like a pillow is a great way to start. Think throw pillows, table lamps, or even small area rugs for that perfect pop of the refined hue.

Alternatively, go big with a burnt orange sofa, which we have been seeing everywhere lately; it's the perfect way to add some visual interest to a neutral living space, while still maintaining a calm and cohesive atmosphere.
