Drew Barrymore’s ultra-chic air fryer changed how I see kitchen appliances – 4 years later, it remains unrivaled (and under $28)

In 2021, Drew designed an air fryer that made me realise kitchen essentials can be stylish – it's as unbeatable today as it was upon its release

In the world of modern appliances, it's certainly uncommon for something to remain just as impressive after four years. In Drew Barrymore's case, however, she's achieved the seemingly impossible.

In 2021, the actress launched her Beautiful collection at Walmart, with her 3-Qt Air Fryer being the standout product at the time. Today, I find it just as impressive as the day I first saw it. The ideology behind Beautiful was to make everyday essentials aesthetic enough to deserve a place on the most compact of countertops, and nothing perfects this more than the air fryer.

'We wanted to add color and new innovation to existing kitchenware items and also create new appliances, tools, and cookware for the most important room in our home, the kitchen,' Drew Barrymore told us in an interview.

'It's the room where you create memories or cook up your favorite comfort meal – it's the heart of the home – and we wanted to bring high-level tech but with more color and happiness added to it.'

To date, it remains the most stylish air fryer on the market. Since its initial launch, Drew has expanded the colorway to include trending favorites, such as Cornflower Blue and Porcini Taupe, ensuring this air fryer is suited to every single kitchen. Best of all, it's at one of the lowest prices I've seen to date, with some colors reduced under $49.

I am not exclusive in my love for this product. Camryn Rabideau, our reviews editor, awarded it 4.5 stars in her review of the Beautiful 6-Quart Digital Air Fryer, noting that it's as easy to use as it's aesthetically appealing.

'The design is simple and might lack some of the bells and whistles of high-end models, but it works extremely well on a variety of tasks and looks good while doing it,' she says. And she's in good company. Cameron Diaz, no less, also shared her admiration for the same air fryer with The Strategist for a series entitled 'What I Can’t Live Without.' If it's good enough for her California kitchen, it's good enough for me.

'It’s so Drew to think of the aesthetic of the kitchen. She’s always saying that every kitchen appliance is either stainless steel or black, and so she made something beautiful enough to sit on your counter that also functions well,' Cameron says.

'I always wanted an oven the size of an Easy-Bake that actually worked, and now I have it. It’s really great for cooking smaller meals, like a couple of pieces of chicken or veggies. I just throw it all together in the air fryer, and it’s done in minutes.'

Air fryer aside, I've handpicked more Beautiful essentials that have caught my eye over the last few years. I am sure they'll age as gracefully as the air fryer.
