Hilary Swank discovered the rare nonstick pan that’s eco-friendly, affordable, and somehow still editor-approved
Hilary opts for the Green Pan ceramic frying pan, which is carcinogen-free as well as high-quality for a great price (under $220)

Once you find a nonstick frying pan that you absolutely love, it essentially becomes an heirloom. However, some trial and error is usually involved in discovering the perfect pan. Hilary Swank has a personal pick, and it turns out it is from an editor-approved brand.
Green Pan's Sear Smart ceramic pan (at Williams Sonoma) is the actor's pick for the best nonstick frying pan, according to The Strategist, in part due to its environmentally-friendly design.
'We found Green Pan because we were trying to avoid carcinogens,' she told them. 'Some more environmentally sound pans will lose their nonstick quality, and that’s been really frustrating for us – as well as really expensive – because then you have to go buy a new pan every six months. Our Sear Smart pans have never lost their nonstick quality, and supposedly, it will last forever. Plus, they’re not overly expensive, so you can buy like ten and still be okay.'
While the model Hilary vouched for is no longer made, our own kitchen editor, Lydia Hayman, has expressed her love for the equally well-reviewed Stanley Pan.
'Stanley’s GreenPan skillet is compatible with all kinds of stove, and is optimized for induction,' she wrote in her review. 'It also has taller, more rounded sides, giving it a deeper profile. This makes it a much more versatile option for family kitchens. In my tests, I used it on my induction hob to shallow fry chicken schnitzel and create a creamy Alfredo pasta for a crowd.'
Available in a variety of colors and retailing for under $220, this is a fantastic option for those who want a trusted frying pan in their kitchen arsenal.

Simply the best. Lydia got a great sear on the hybrid surface, thanks to the stainless steel peaks, yet everything slid off effortlessly. It's compatible with metal utensils, too.
With its sturdy 5-ply construction, polished stainless steel base, and a sandy ceramic coating, this pan strikes a balance between durability and style. It looks and feels substantial, and delivers a satisfying sizzle on delicate ingredients.
This pan is pretty and practical. The unique 'no-coating' Titanium design is dishwasher-safe (a huge win), and food still sizzles effortlessly on the grooved surface. However, it is heavy.
