Blush and pink shades are flourishing in home decor, celebrated for their versatility and soothing aesthetic. From subtle rose tones to the timeless, plaster-hued pink, decorating with pink offers flattering and sophisticated options for nearly any space.

The ongoing resurgence of pink is no surprise, as it strikes a perfect balance between boldness and elegance – a concept beautifully realized in Leslie Mann’s pink kitchen.

Her home is a true showstopper, showcasing the dramatic spectrum of pink, from soft blush to vibrant fuchsia. With associations of grace, purity, and refinement, pink brings both historical richness and contemporary style, inspiring countless pink room ideas for interiors that feel timeless yet fresh.

‘Pinks have been used throughout history and ranged from the plaster pinks, based on red ochre, to the blossom pinks from crimson lakes,’ says Edward Bulmer, an architectural historian, interior designer, and founder of Edward Bulmer Natural Paint.

'The latter were expensive and much loved as a tinting color on ornamental plasterwork from the 18th century onwards. They are a perennial favorite as they flatter both building and occupant.’

While the 'Barbiecore' trend exploded in 2023 and 2024, bringing vibrant fuchsia into the global conversation, it merely set the stage for the wider appreciation of pinks we see today in 2025. It is no surprise that bold, characterful room colors, like those in Leslie Mann's family kitchen, continue to catch the attention of interior design editors. In her space, pink packs a significant decorative punch with not one, but two distinct pink colors.

Fans of daring kitchen cabinet colors will adore this home, and those who love decorating with pink will be inspired still more. While pink is often associated with bedrooms and relaxing spaces, its potential in more practical rooms such as kitchens should not be overlooked. Here, it can lend a warm, welcoming, and characterful touch. In particular, the atmosphere of a culinary space can be greatly influenced by the hue you choose.

‘There’s so much to consider when designing a kitchen, and color is one of the most effective tools you have when it comes to creating atmosphere and character,’ says Neptune’s kitchen designer Stephanie Nix.

‘Pinks are an incredibly popular kitchen cabinet color trend at the moment; they work beautifully with the undertones of Carrara marble and mix with pale or darker grays to create a calming cooking space. You could also introduce black accessories through lighting or black-bronze handles to keep the look chic and sophisticated.’

However, designers caution against choosing overly sweet shades unless you truly love them. ‘Pink has a very alluring quality. It draws you in, is welcoming, and easy on the eye. But you have to be really careful not to get too sickly sweet,’ says interior designer Samantha Todhunter. 'To dial back the sugary nature of some pinks, look to use shades with tones of gray.’

With its enhanced versatility as a 'new gender neutral' and endlessly chic shade, there are no longer any house rules when it comes to using glamorous blush and hot pinks to confidently decorate every room in the home this year – not just the kitchen.
