Tim Burton is known for building spectacular worlds within his films, and it turns out his own home in the British countryside follows suit in its charm and visual appeal – and it's on the market now.

Listed for £4.5 million (approximately $6.1 million), the historic, 18th-century Mill House in Oxfordshire features eight bedrooms, 17 acres of land and gardens, and stunning views of the River Thames.

The original Georgian style is well preserved, from the decorative cornicing in the reception room to the marble fireplace in the study.

'Mill House is a quintessential example of an English country house, blending timeless charm with modern comfort,' says Hugh Maconochie, director in the Country House Department & Private Office at Savills.

'Of particular note are its wonderful grounds and gardens, which promise the future owner a truly enchanting lifestyle - one that is reminiscent of a Swallows and Amazons adventure!'

Let's take a look inside.

A quintessential British garden surrounds the Grade II property, with a rose terrace, a courtyard, rose parterre alongside a croquet lawn. Simply put, it's idyllic and ideal for gardeners and wannabe-gardeners alike.

The reception room is bright and airy, with white furniture, lime green-painted walls, and a luxe fireplace making the space feel cozy and inviting.

One of the bedrooms keeps the green paint theme going, albeit this time with a more muted, pistachio shade. The simple black bedframe and cream curtains contribute to a traditional, sophisticated ambiance.

The den is a masterclass in mixing patterns and colors, with a statement purple sofa contrasting the blue and red, patchwork-inspired rug. Cream cushions and curtains balance everything out perfectly.

A second bedroom makes use of natural light, with a small sofa sitting underneath a cream-curtained window, while an antique wardrobe provides ample storage space.

Finally, the home office goes bold with red curtains, and a plush, red velvet sofa, while a leather ottoman serves as a makeshift display for books (not to mention the floor-to-ceiling shelves). The wood desk chair adds a nice touch of nature to the sleek space.

Tim Burton's home is listed with Hugh Maconochie and Charles Elsmore-Wickens at Savills.
