You’d Never Guess This Mid-Century-Inspired Side Table Is Under $100 at Target – It’s a Multifunctional Small-Space Must-Have

Storage furniture rarely looks this stylish. And when it does, it's never this cheap. Target has certainly outdone itself with this sophisticated side table

Furnishing a small space is something I am very familiar with, having moved around New York, living in apartments where the character is high but the square footage is low. So I am always on the hunt for compact pieces that look good but work hard too. When space is tight, you can rarely choose form over function.

Target's Octagon Side Table is my most recent find that fits the bill. It's a new arrival from Threshold's fall drop; one that instantly caught my eye. Its sleek, octagonal shape and its dark wood grain give it a mid-century modern flair and make it look like a luxury find – like something that would cost you triple at a designer furniture store or vintage shop. After falling for the aesthetics, I was happy to find it ticks the functional box too, with plenty of storage that could work in many small rooms – a chic home bar in a kitchen, a sideboard in a living room or a bedside table.

It's also currently on sale at just $80.

It's rare that I come across living room furniture that's stylish, practical, and affordable, but this side table truly has it all. What I love most about it – aside from its chic, mid-century look and the fact that it doubles as a hidden storage idea – is its subtlety. It doesn't need to be the standout feature of a space, but it'll tastefully enhance the existing decor scheme in more ways than one. Any room can benefit from its presence. It'll work wonders as a living room side table, a bedroom nightstand, or even as a table in a reading nook.

This side table is quietly stylish with its dark wood grain, its octagonal shape, and its singular cabinet knob. Its high-end look can easily elevate any room in which it's added.

This side table boasts a glowing 4.2-out-of-5-star ranking, with reviewers remarking on its high-end design, sturdiness, and versatility. I'm already imagining how this side table will live in my small living room. I'll position it next to my sofa, and I'll use its interior to store board games, remotes, or even a spare blanket. On top, I'll create a tasteful vignette that can complement the aesthetic appeal of the table itself. See how I'd style it below.

Target's new arrivals for fall 2026 are some of the chicest home decor finds I've seen this season. Aside from the Octagon Side Table (which I'm buying before it sells out), I've been fawning over this Mini Portable Lamp, too. From Joanna Gaines' Target line, I think it'll be the perfect addition to any tabletop surface this fall.
