IKEA’s $35 Space-Saving Parasol Is Replacing Clunky Umbrellas – Sparing Small Patios Nearly 4 Feet of Clutter
This square-shaped shade is a big deal for small backyards
Squeezing an oversized parasol into a petite patio or balcony is a bit like squeezing yourself into skinny jeans two sizes too small – there’s no room to breathe, and it doesn’t do either of you any favors. IKEA’s TVETÖ umbrella might not look all that different from a traditional parasol on screen. The difference is its size: at just 71 inches wide, it’s nearly four feet narrower than IKEA’s classic JOGGESÖ parasol, which measures 118 inches across. For a small patio, balcony, or courtyard, that’s the difference between comfortably shaded and visually swallowed whole.
