It's the End of an Era – Le Creuset Is Retiring One of Its Most Iconic Colors, And The Final Pieces Are Already Selling Out
Fans have been sharing their grief as the Olive colorway is the next to be discontinued
Le Creuset is no stranger to retiring beloved colors, with several timeless favorites disappearing from shelves in recent years. This time, it's Olive – a rich, earthy ombré green – that's set to be discontinued.
First introduced in 2024, the lush green was the perfect sweet spot for year-round hosting, adding a sumptuous sun-soaked pop to summer tables but feeling just as at home during winter festivities. It is safe to say it is a controversial decision – and one that many fans are not too pleased with.
The remaining Olive pieces have been discounted at Le Creuset, and many are sold out. We don't expect the rest of this non-toxic cookware to be available for long, either, as shoppers rush to complete their Olive sets before the color disappears for good.

While no one understands the full decision process behind retiring colors at Le Creuset, it is often done to make space for new colorways. Olive is not the first to go this year, either, with Shallot and Caribbean having been retired back in February.
With its vast array of green shades, including Thyme, Artichaut, and Foret, it is perhaps unsurprising that one is on the way out. However, it does not make the news any easier on fans, who have shared their disappointment on Instagram over the discontinuation of the only warm, vibrant green on offer.
'Glad I’m basically at pot peace now because it’s very frustrating when you keep discontinuing the beautiful vibrant colors,' one commenter shared. 'Another color gone? Yikes,' added another.
Despite the discontent and threats of boycott, the remaining pieces are selling quickly at Le Creuset, Williams Sonoma, and Crate & Barrel, so if you want a final piece to remember it by, now is the time.
