I don’t do seasonal gimmicks but Crate & Barrel’s unassumingly chic fall collection is made for us who only like to nod to autumn decor
This lineup of asquashes and Japanese maple branches is how I like to do fall decor

I love decorating my home with the seasons, but I will be the first to say, I don't do seasonal gimmicks. And fall decor is full of gimmicks. So if you like me you want to keep your autumnal decor as chic as the rest of your home's style, this is the new collection for you.
Crate & Barrel’s fall 2025 collection brims with transitions that actually make sense. Yes, there are rust tones, burl woods, and moody acrylic art prints. Yes, decorative pumpkins make their usual fall decor appearance – but in glass, papier-mâché, and woven rattan, so they manage to sidestep novelty.
My favorite, though, has to be the hyper-realistic fall folliage – burgundy peonies, Japanese maple – that look as if they’ve been styled for an editorial. Drop them in your favorite vase – probably the one you’ll spot below – and let them do the rest.
Autumn without the aftertaste of PSL, this is a gentle pivot into the season. A slip into fall rather than a plunge. Here, six standouts from the collection.
Elegant as ever. Those of us in North America know the maple well – and milk it for all it’s worth come fall. This Japanese maple hits the same ambery, just-starting-to-age notes, but with a longer, leaner silhouette that feels like a refresh. Style it solo or let it bulk up an existing arrangement.
Just when I thought the irregular-clay design trend had peaked, pieces like this keep proving me wrong – and thank goodness. Inspired by gourds and squashes, this one looks like it wandered out of Whoville or the backdrop of a Dalí painting. Surreal enough to stand alone.
I’m a sucker for faux fur, but also the pickiest blanket shopper alive – I’ve inspected more than I care to admit, online and IRL. This one, now in a new Deep Indigo colorway, passed the test. I’ve felt it in-store, and it’s every bit as plush as it looks. Drape this cozy living room idea over a couch or armchair, pairit with jewel tones, and prepare never to move again.
Two things you wouldn’t immediately link to fall: flowers and the desert. Yet somehow, this blockprint quilt nails the season. Heirloom-inspired and made from organic cotton, every inch is touched by hand – from the quilting to the printing – so no two are quite the same. It’s a modern spin on homespun craft, especially good with oxblood pillows.
It’s all in the proportions with this twisted brass candelabra – a barely-there silhouette with enough stage presence to hold its own on a busy fall table decor-filled surface. Minimalist but not fragile, it can handle the elbows, platters, and chatter of the season. Add five of your best candles and pretend a designer styled the whole scene.
