Zebras leaping, cheetahs prancing, and animal print galore – that's just what's in store for us in Ruggable's latest collaboration with heritage textile brand, Scalamandré.

Having been a force in the design industry for nearly a century, Scalamandré is well known for its textile styles – its iconic prints and expressive motifs can imbue any room with elevated, maximalist energy. Now, thanks to the brand's recent collaboration with rug trend setters, Ruggable, we can get the same energy for our floors.

According to Ruggable's VP of Global Design Maria O’Brien, the team wanted to celebrate Scalamandré's design legacy and the rich history of their patterns with this collection. 'Our in-house design team focused on how to best showcase these iconic motifs on the floor: honoring their original scale, detail, and personality while thoughtfully adapting them to the unique canvas of our all-in-one rugs,' Maria explains. 'Certain animal prints and heritage patterns naturally stood out because they’re so expressive and recognizable; our role was to translate that character into rug designs that feel intentional and eye-catching, but also practical and timeless.'

With current interior design trends turning away from the refined, minimalist styles of the past to adopt more expressive, characterful, and maximalist looks, vibrant patterns are more desirable than ever. And, this collection has lots to choose from.

'Pattern is one of the easiest ways to introduce that sense of character, and rugs are a powerful starting point because they can seamlessly transform or anchor a room,' Maria says. 'This collection gives people permission to be bolder with their design choices while knowing the pieces are still practical enough to live with year-round.'

Within the collection, you'll find some of Scalamandré's most iconic motifs, prints, and patterns reimagined for the floor – including the brand's unmistakable Leaping Cheetah and Zebra prints. These rug styles, with their lively animal motifs, invite a strong sense of character, a refined sense of elegance, and a hint of playful energy to any room.

If you want to decorate your home with animal print, this collection has plenty of styles that can help you do that, too. The Tigre rug, for instance, is an ultra luxe option with its black and gold tiger print. It would make an excellent area rug for a maximalist living room. So could the Panthera rug, with its cheetah print interior and solid-colored border.

And, as with all Ruggable rugs, they're designed for real life – not just for show. 'With Ruggable's Tufted All-in-One construction, these iconic patterns finally meet the practicality families need: washable, durable, and comfortable underfoot, without compromising style,' Maria explains. If you think these beautiful rug styles won't be able to handle your busy home, think again. They were made to take on high-traffic zones and inevitable messes while maintaining their desirable looks.

'These rugs are a transformation tool,' Maria muses, 'designed for anyone looking to tie their room together with one standout, statement piece. They bring personality and joy back into the rooms we use every day, whether that’s a sophisticated living space or a child’s play area bursting with color and energy.'

For nearly a century, Scalamandré's iconic prints have aided in creating homes that look confidently stylish, feel energetic and fresh, and are anything but boring. And with this Ruggable collaboration, the brand will continue to do just that – starting on your floor.
