Every time Rifle Paper Co. and Loloi collaborate on a new rug collection, we're immersed in a magical dream world, where blooming florals, whimsical motifs, and vibrant colors set the scene for rooms that feel like they belong in the pages of storybooks.

The latest iteration of Rifle Paper Co. and Loloi's collaboration is no different. Only this time around, the collection draws inspiration from the peaceful countryside – where life moves slowly, and home is as much of a place as it is a feeling.

According to Anna Bond, Rifle Paper Co.'s co-founder and the artist behind its designs, the brand has been heavily embracing a 'country aesthetic' this spring – first seen in the brand's own spring decor collection. 'I wanted some of those comforting, nostalgic motifs to live in our new Loloi collection,' she tells me. Think classic florals, nature-inspired motifs, and even pastoral scenes of grazing cows and swimming ducks. All of these details have found their way into the collection, making it feel charmingly rustic, rich with character, and full of warmth.

The collection itself is divided into sub-collections of rugs in varying styles and materiality. 'The Edith rugs, for example, are very bold, with a garden’s worth of multicolor florals,' Anna explains of these hand-tufted wool pile rugs with their wild, live edge finishes. The Thistle rugs are similar – also hand-tufted of 100% wool, these rugs feature climbing floral motifs and sweet, scalloped borders. The Orchard rugs might feel the most country-inspired with their quilted textures, stitched effects, and charming motifs. And for a more muted interpretation of the collection's theme, there are the Edinburgh rugs – subtle in design and soft in color, these rugs are quietly grounding but just as design-driven.

What unites all of these sub-collections, aside from their charmingly nostalgic mood and their farmhouse-inspired style, is their palette – composed of inviting earth tones, soft neutrals, and pops of color here and there. 'You’ll find plum, deep greens, burgundy, and warm neutrals, as we happily support the trend of more color and pattern showing up in people’s homes,' Anna tells Homes & Gardens.

This collection is one that feels particularly timely, too – especially with design trends embracing character-rich interiors and all things nostalgic right now. Plus, it draws on 'classic techniques like quilting, cross-stitch, and block printing,' Anna says. You'll see this in rugs like the Orchard Lottie Rug, with its patchwork-style design and its subtle, quilt-like texture.

There's a sense of familiarity and heritage woven into the designs of these rugs, as well as a sense of freshness and modern appeal. 'As a whole, the spring collections are very playful, and expand on the nostalgic, folk art-inspired look we’ve been loving,' Anna adds.

Building upon past Loloi x Rifle Paper Co. collections, this drop expands upon what these brands have already accomplished together, while simultaneously introducing new elements to keep the collaboration feeling fresh and exciting. Woven, wool pile textures, for instance, give the new drop an elevated feel, while unique prints and patterns add an additional layer of charm and storytelling.

Plus, this new collection boasts the collaboration's first line of washable rugs – the Orchard Collection. 'Washable rugs help remove the stress of everyday life – spills, pets, kids – and allow people to fully enjoy their space,' Loloi's co-founder Cyrus Loloi says of this innovative inclusion.

At its core, this new collection exemplifies what makes this collaboration so great: Rifle Paper Co.'s expressive and idyllic design style blended with Loloi's quality and craftsmanship. Finished with a country-inspired flair, the collection invites you to live life in the slow lane and find joy in simplicity.

These rugs, as well as their complementary pillows and wall art, tell stories in their own right, inviting you to transform your home into one that invites you to relax, unwind, and live a little slower.
