Once again, interior designer Shea McGee shows us just how chic fall decor can be – and how it doesn't have to be all plastic pumpkins and bright orange decorations.

In a recent Instagram post, Shea has shared how she's decorating her front porch for fall, fusing her timeless, heritage touch with outdoor fall decor ideas to create a seasonal yet chic display that's easily transitional from fall to Halloween.

The beauty of this look is in its flexibility; with a handful of pieces, you can transform your fall-inspired arrangement into a one-of-a-kind Halloween homage that'll stand proud all season long.

We love that Shea keeps it simple with her selection of pieces. She opts for a luscious garland that feels very fall-appropriate without falling into the overly decorative. Pinning it around her doorway, the garland frames the architecture and sets the tone for the rest of her indoor fall decor ideas.

A long garland can be a nightmare to handle, but Shea cleverly incorporates three individual pieces and frames them around her front door, connecting them to create one impressive centerpiece.

Next, she opts for the matching wreath to give her front door some impact. Decorated with an autumnal burgundy bow, it's the perfect accessory that frames the space, acting as a welcome for guests.

Acknowledging fall trends, Shea ties the look together with transitional decorations that are appropriate for the season without feeling too pastiche. The pair of Wellington boots adds to the country, rustic feel of the display, and the potted fall planters and welcome mat add a subtle autumnal feel that matches the garland.

A seasonal fall display that creates the perfect base for outdoor Halloween decor ideas, Shea then shows us how to add that more spooky feel.

Taking to Instagram to share her favorite Halloween accessory, she proves that all you really need is a couple of festive pieces to make your exterior feel ready for October 31st.

Shea says, 'We've launched these really cute broomsticks at McGee & Co. I love to add levels and textures when I'm styling, and these are a great addition to your front porch look. I can lean them in the corner and they add a little personality. They're also pretty chic, too.'

Tied in with the rustic fall color scheme, the broomsticks are charming and add an element of fun to the porch. They're also so easy to remove once the holiday is over, and don't detract from the overall fall look.

Shea's fall-inspired front porch is festive yet sophisticated. She perfectly balances her heritage style with the playfulness of fall and Halloween styling.
