I've resisted upgrading my beloved hand mixer until now – I've fallen for Joanna Gaines' Target exclusive, which is sleek, stylish, and portable

I was reluctant to give up my grandmother's trusty hand-me-down, but Joanna Gaines' cordless KitchenAid Go hand mixer might be the perfect upgrade

I spent many afternoons as a child baking with my grandmother when she would use her KitchenAid hand mixer, and you could say it's become something of a family heirloom as it's now one of my most prized possessions. I've never considered replacing it or updating it with one of the best hand mixers – until now, that is. I must admit that Joanna Gaines' green cordless KitchenAid Hand Mixer is very tempting.

I've been checking out all the kitchenware in Joanna Gaines' new cooking show, Magnolia Table: At The Farm (alongside her recipes and hosting tips, of course), but ever since watching the first episode, I can't get this mixer off my mind (sorry, grandma, but it might be time for an upgrade). The KitchenAid Go Cordless Hand Mixer is available in an exclusive colorway – Shaded Palm – as part of Joanna Gaines' Target collection, Hearth & Hand with Magnolia.

It's fair to say that we're fans of KitchenAid here at Homes & Gardens; and we're currently obsessing over the exciting re-release of the KitchenAid stand mixer with a walnut wood bowl, for 2025. Plus, we've spotted another gorgeous KitchenAid stand mixer from Hearth & Hand with Magnolia at Target – but if you don't have the need of one of the best stand mixers and are looking for a more affordable, compact and portable appliance for everyday baking, whisking, and mixing tasks, Joanna Gaines' cordless KitchenAid Hand Mixer from Target packs a punch.

I should add that KitchenAid's cordless mixer claims the top spot in our best hand mixer guide. According to our tester, it has 'the polished retro look that the brand is famous for, the convenience of being cordless, and the performance that you need to get your smaller baking tasks done efficiently.'

Then, of course, there's the color. This sophisticated shade is so timeless and goes with so many different kitchen looks. It's bold enough to make a change from black, white or stainless steel, but subtle enough that you won't have to change your entire color scheme to make it work.

Serious bakers might be wary of a smaller mixer like this one, and it's true that the cordless KitchenAid Go Hand Mixer is only available with one set of mixer attachments. In my eyes, however, that means saving both storage space and counter space in my small kitchen – and if it's good enough for Joanna Gaines, it definitely gets my seal of approval.

Any avid baker doesn't just require a good mixer, but some elegant bakeware, too – and it's no surprise that I've got my eye on Joanna Gaines' forest green Cottage Collection from Magnolia. It'll work so perfectly for my fall baking and look lovely alongside my Joanna Gaines cordless KitchenAid hand mixer.
