Tracee Ellis Ross’s Los Angeles home is gorgeous but her social media followers have quickly fallen in love with her 'blue room'.

The Black-ish actress, whose mother is legendary singer Diana Ross, has an iconic fashion sense just like her mom and this sense of style is especially apparent in her living room. The strikingly designed space has become a familiar background on her Instagram account and interior design aficionados can’t get enough of this zen spot.

The actress completely embraced decorating with blue and, as a direct result, deep blue paint covers both the walls and ceilings. However, this living room also features large high windows — which is key in a space like this.

Tracee opted not to add curtains or any window treatments which allows her to take advantage of the gorgeous view. The unobstructed windows also let in a ton of light, which is absolutely necessary when using such a dark paint color. The room still feels open and airy even with such an intense shade on the walls.

Tracee was also able to bring a bit of the nature from outside her window inside by adding a few plants. Investing in large plants like Monsteras and Fiddle leaf figs are a way to create eco-friendly statement pieces.

Though the paint is the obvious focal point of this space, the Black-ish actress wasn’t afraid to hang things on the walls. She opted for gold vintage-style frames for her artwork which adds a refined bit of elegance.

Tracee used the same daring approach when it was time to furnish the unique room. The room has a large plush blue sectional which is great for lounging and posing. The cozy piece also reminds visitors that space should actually be lived in — it is inviting and welcoming.

On top of the couch are a pair of animal-print cushions which adds another luxe layer of coziness and relaxation. A soft and shaggy black fur rug is placed in the middle of the room across the hardwood floors. Tracee’s willingness to mix and match patterns and experiment with bold textiles allows her to create a one-of-a-kind space with all of the traditional comforts of home.

During an interview with Shape, Tracee explained, 'What I’ve realized during this pandemic is that my entire home is my meditation space.' From the calming blue walls to the way she has managed to seamlessly blend nature into her decor, it is no wonder the actress is able to achieve the ultimate zen while spending time in this room.
