Designers love Lisa Vanderpump's outdoor living room – a textured space that is topping trends
The Vanderpump Rules star has mastered this ever-popular outdoor living trend – and recreating her style is simple
Fans of Lisa Vanderpump may be used to looking inside her estate via The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules – both of which showcase her life to the world. However, a closer focus on her backyard – specifically, her outdoor living room – reminds us why the socialite is so admired.
Known for combining glamor and down-to-earth style, the British-born star is no stranger to showing her personality throughout her Los Angeles property. However (we would say), no space epitomizes this quite like her outdoor living room – complete with stylish wicker furniture, a fire pit, and a TV (because this is Lisa Vanderpump, after all).
Naturally, Lisa shared the space during an episode of Vanderpump Rules, but we confess, we were slightly more distracted by glamorous but laid-back outdoor furniture arrangement – that will continue to top garden trends this 2023.

According to Yardzen's recent Outdoor Living Trends Report, outdoor living rooms are among the most sought-after features among clients in all 50 states. This year, backyard firepits like Lisa's, remain a top request. However, they have similarly observed a 'notable spike in requests for outdoor fireplaces' – as 'more homeowners translate their favorite interior amenities to their outdoor rooms.'
Alongside her fire, Lisa has furnished the indoor/outdoor living space with dark wicker chairs (we've found a match below), a rug, and cushions. And, while these accessories may seem small, designer Martin Waller says they play an instrumental role in creating the perfect outdoor living space.
'Cushions and fabrics may seem like small details, but they offer a quick and easy solution when it comes to transforming your space. And, as the days get warmer, their transformative power is no longer limited to indoors,' he says.
Martin Waller is the founder of the globally renowned design house Andrew Martin, and he remains at the heart of the brand to this day. The London-based designer has shaped furniture, fabric, and wallpaper trends through his experimentative designs – based on a variety of cultures. At the turn of the millennium, he published his bestselling design book Fusion Interiors (now available on Amazon).
With its timeless wicker and versatile gray cushion, this chair is a perfect alternative to the ones seen in Lisa Vanderpump's outdoor living room. We recommend starting here before styling the space with your favorite pillows and accessories.
'As well as bringing much-needed comfort to your garden seating, the addition of outdoor cushions allows you to blur the lines between interior and exterior, helping to create a space that is often left unused through half the year, feels like a carefully considered living area.'

And it would seem that Lisa Vanderpump knows how to blur these lines further. Alongside the cushions, she has decorated with rose-filled vases that sit atop her side tables. This adds a timeless, curated finish to the outdoor 'living room' – and it's a look that deserves to be replaced far beyond Beverly Hills.
