New Yorkers, there’s a new Soho in the city. London-based interiors powerhouse Soho Home has opened its first US retail space – Soho.Home.Studio– on West 14th and Ninth Avenue, in a move that combines London chic with New York cool.
Soho.Home.Studio is the latest venture by Soho House – the London establishment that began as a private membership club in 1995. The powerhouse went on to open a host of clubs and hotels globally before launching Soho Home in 2016.
Soho Home has already set interior design trends in London for five years, but now it is now the US’s time to get inspired.
‘We are excited to bring a physical Soho Home retail space to the US, giving people the chance to see and experience our products in person for the first time,’ explains Soho House Global President Andrew Carnie.
The studio is situated on the ground floor of a quintessential Meatpacking District warehouse. This industrial setting allows for space to showcase the label’s collections of hard and soft furnishings – and fuel your decorating ideas. The pieces are inspired by the Soho Houses worldwide, meaning you can travel anywhere from West 14th St.
‘Everything you see in the Studio is available to buy so that you can bring a bit of Soho House home with you,’ Andrew says.
Plus, while Soho House is a private membership club, Soho.Home.Studio will welcome members and non-members to come together to create, shop, and discuss interior design tips that will fill your home with style.
The studio also sees the introduction of Member Market, a curated edit of products designed by Soho House members that rotate constantly. Brooklyn-based florist designer Jenn Huynh and Alimentari Flaneur from Future Flowers and a purveyor of quality produce, Daniel Emilio Soares, are amongst the first the exhibit their talents in the space.
‘This is set to become a destination not just for our new Soho Home collections, but a revolving gallery space inspired by Soho House where people will be able to see exclusive products and designs by our members,’ adds Aalish Yorke-Long, Soho House Retail Managing Director.
Soho.Home.Studio is located at 401 West 14th Street, New York, NY, 10013. It is open from Monday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm.
