It can be, but it pays to know exactly what you're looking for before making a purchase. While Amazon has lots of good options, there are also a lot of low-quality items.
My biggest tip is to read the fine print. Features of a product advertised in the title may not actually be true. You might see furniture listed as teak, but when you scroll down to the fine details, it's actually 'teak-effect', and the wood is hemlock, which is totally unsuitable for outdoor furniture. I've found lots of quality acacia furniture on Amazon, but only after double- and triple-checking that the product is exactly as advertised.
And, of course, read the reviews! Nothing will give you more information than the good (or bad) highlights from real people who have received the product, assembled it, and tested it out in their backyard. It is the best way to get fast information without reading copywriter waffle.
