Shea sells seashells by the seashore. How’s that for a tongue twister? By Shea, we, of course, mean McGee, and by seashore, we mean Target. Her latest drop flirts with last summer’s biggest trend – only now, these shells are here to host.
Shea kicks off the new collection's decidedly social agenda with a portable table lamp disguised as a conch shell – which, believe it or not, might be the best host’s accessory of the summer. It passes as a pretty paperweight (something in the vicinity of a Judith Leiber clutch) until the sun sets and you switch it on, the shell lighting from within. There’s no doubting its sculptural presence, but it’s also a surprisingly practical party trick, illuminating the table as insurance against any late-night, elbow-led margarita mishaps.
For those less taken by the novelty, the shell-shaped pieces are rounded out by outdoor living essentials you were actually planning to stock up on, too (such as rattan chargers and sculptural serving spoons), alongside a broader lineup of coastal inspired outdoor essentials that feel refreshingly less themed.
Seashells – a Hollywood Regency relic turned coastal-cool staple – made major waves last summer, and, thanks to Shea's summer 2026 collection for Target, show no signs of slowing.
Namely, a series of silver, wavy-edged serving pieces – from two-tiered stands to champagne buckets – for your more opulent alfresco moments, while sea-blue and coral-pink outdoor cushions, finished with ruffled eyelet lace, bring that cottagecore-meets-whimsy mood outside for the quieter ones.
Last year’s seashell moment skewed more sedentary with neoclassically inspired sconces, accent mirrors, and trinket dishes, but Shea gives the seaside motif a new purpose this season: to party, indoors or out.
You don’t need a sixth sense to know that anything by Shea will fly fast, but we have an inkling these nine hosting-ready pieces will shell out first.
Leave it to Shea to come up with something this fantastical – and, somehow, completely necessary. Pushing the shell trope into more sculptural territory, it’s a cheeky way into the trend that also keeps your table lit past sundown. One is perfect for a petite patio table, or try a row of them for a longer surface.
Without so much as a whiff of the usual ‘outdoor-only,' this throw pillow is as indoor-ready as they come, finished with eyelet detailing along the border of its all-weather fabric. It comes in coastal shades of sage green, light teal, ivory, and a warmer, sun-washed tone that pairs dreamily with the rest.
Shea isn’t stopping at shells this season – waves make a strong showing, too. Echoing the ridged forms of the mollusks, they reemerge here along the handles of a sculptural salad server set, chiming in with outsized personality on even a very tiny table.
This crustacean- and mollusk-patterned platter feels like something you might find in a mom-and-pop coastal spot, largely untouched by time. It looks like an heirloom, but, made of melamine, can also handle a tumble without any trouble.
Even casual summer dinners feel a touch more polished with these eyelet-bordered cotton napkins, designed to coordinate with the cushions above. Coastal grandmother at its best, fold them loosely or finish with a napkin ring (Shea, of course, has one, in nautically knotted rattan).
All it takes for an impromptu outdoor get-together to feel like an intentional one is a single striking serving piece – which Shea delivers here in wave-bordered aluminum, a calming callback to the collection's shell motifs without feeling overly on the nose.
It’s shells on shells on shells with this sculptural ceramic planter, which gives your leafy children somewhere chic to summer – just as stylish, in fact, as everything else on the table. Buy the set (the lamp above, the plates) for a level of coastal coordination that’s sure to impress.
Your search for the perfect non-eyesore aperitivo-hour stemware is over. For a final splash, Shea introduces an outdoor-friendly cocktail coupe, built to withstand more than a gentle breeze. Made of acrylic, but finished with softly wavy ruffles at the rim, no one will be the wiser.
In case there was any doubt that 'coastal' is the look Shea's betting on this summer, the designer leans in just as heavily with her own homewares brand, McGee & Co. Seashells aside, there are three additional – and highly complementary – summer trends for 2026 from the lineup that deserve a place at the table.
