As you may expect from the stylish businesswoman and founder of lifestyle brand goop, the California home of Gwyneth Paltrow is an elegant and understated space that has a natural and organic look.
While we've previously garnered inspiration from many rooms of the design-led home, not least the calming and sophisticated entryway, we're taking a closer look at the sophisticated living room.

Pictured above, the calming living room commits to a largely understated color palette of soothing neutrals, whilst the textures champion a feeling of luxury and timeless charm.
The design of the room nods to the art-deco movement with the curved doorway and simple clean lines that feature throughout the space, whilst the room's tall ceilings give a feeling of grandeur.
'There’s just so much to love about this artfully curated living space,' explains interior design expert Kathy Kuo.
'Aspects of art deco, Mediterranean chic, and wabi-sabi elegance all come together beautifully for a design motif that’s both polished and personal. I love the juxtaposition of modern geometric shapes and patterns with organic design elements, like the marble accents and the statement-making potted tree. Of course, the addition of the suspended daybed really makes this space feel luxurious.' Kuo observes.
Interior design expert Kathy Kuo founded her eponymous home store in 2012 – and it has since gone on to be an e-commerce destination for luxury furniture and decor essentials from a variety of beloved home vendors. Kathy and her store specialize in styles like French Country, Coastal Beach, and Modern Classic while offering interior design services to their clients.
The furniture uses soft curves and boasts a minimalist form, while the oversized hammock that hangs next to the floor-to-ceiling glass doors stands out as unexpected. It's certainly not a furniture piece you'd naturally expect to see inside the home, but the room's spacious proportions and strong links to nature through the organic textures and large plants make it an obvious addition to the space. To us, it looks like the most serene and idyllic seating arrangement to relax in.
