Storage solutions require creativity. Jennifer Garner's might make her a creative genius.

The 13 Going on 30 actress shared an adorable video giving her cat a bath in her laundry room sink and we couldn't help but notice all the brilliant lessons it takes from traditional kitchen storage ideas. Garner's white laundry room has high ceilings, allowing room for cabinets both across the base of the space and on the upper walls. They provide infinite space for cleaning supplies and other, more rarely-used home items.

In addition to the cabinets, the actress's laundry room incorporates kitchen countertops, a kitchen island, and a kitchen sink. These additions made it easier to handwash laundry right next to the machine, while the counters make sorting clothes notably more seamless.

Interior designers are impressed by the scheme, which is simultaneously stylish and functional. NYC-based interior designer Kathy Kuo says, 'Speaking as a mom myself, I can tell you that this storage wonderland of a laundry room is the stuff that dreams are made of! If you have the space for it, as Jennifer does, I love the idea of using your laundry room as a multi-purpose storage and cleaning area.'

The kitchen cabinet idea is particularly impressive to experts. Best-of-Houzz-award-winning designer Elizabeth P. Lord-Levitt states: 'Accentuating ceiling height through tall cabinets can visually make a space feel bigger, even if the footprint is small, like a mudroom. A second row of cabinets may be inefficient for everyday needs but can be great for overflow items or holiday decor that are rarely accessed.' It both expands storage and adds style – a rare combination that's hard to resist.

Furthermore, the cabinet color in Garner's home enhances the visual interest of her space. Kuo tells Homes & Gardens: 'The crisp look of the cabinets filling the vertical space here is very modern-farmhouse-inspired and really just such a smart use of the space.' It's proof that functional spaces in the home needn't only be for storage: they can also add a touch of intentionally designed flair.
