Kris Jenner's black-and-white kitchen reinvents minimalism with a chic, textural spin
The combination of off-white kitchen cabinets and dark brown, textured stone creates a monochromatic kitchen with beautiful depth
There is perhaps no look more classic than the black and white kitchen. It's sleek, it's elegant, and it's timeless. However, if not built with care, the color scheme can look cold and uninviting. With varied textures and finishes, Kris Jenner transforms the look into a warm and contemporary style.
Kris's space uses traditional, off-white cabinets, dark brown, marbled countertops, and backsplash, which is a softer, warmer version of the black-and-white kitchen look.
'There are so many design details in Kris Jenner's kitchen we can address, but the most noticeable is the off-white cabinetry contrasting beautifully with the dark countertops,' says Elizabeth Lord, interior designer at Elizabeth P. Lord Residential Design.

Kathy Kuo, interior designer at Kathy Kuo Home, adds: 'Black and white is a classic color combination for a modern kitchen, and I love that Kris is keeping her kitchen look sleek and minimal.' However, the sleekness of the look is made more interesting by a variety of textures in the space.

First, the marbled stone surface of the countertops adds a multi-dimensional look to Kris's black and white kitchen. Elizabeth says, 'The natural stone countertops and corresponding backsplash are finished in a honed or satin finish, accentuating the texture and richness of the dark stone. Kathy adds: 'The fact that the backsplash and counter both feature a subtly patterned black stone is a nice touch—it draws the eye without feeling too busy or cluttered.'
The finish on the kitchen cabinets adds a relaxed, cozy feel to the minimalist kitchen. Elizabeth tells H&G: 'With a more matte finish, the lighter grain pattern stands out and provides a more textural element to the space, which complements nicely the clean lines of the white cabinets. The unique door profile and contrasting dark finish on the cabinet hardware provide personalization yet continuity in the space.'
